1. Get a bunch of another type of food and stick that in the far left slot so that milk and eggs get put in the subsequent slots (but they will still expire in ~10 mins).
2. Put a bunch of a single food type in the far left slot of the feed box, and fill the rest of the slots with a single cotton candy or honey since they don't expire. Then get a fridge and assign an ice pal to it. This will make the pals transport the milk and eggs to the fridge
It works great, the Ranch Pals stay happy, and Ranch produce just lies there until I collect it. It also means nobody passing by can steal the produce of your Ranch. I cannot fathom why the game lets people do this, but nobody in here seems to make anything of it. Go figure.
you need to put food that won't get expired into the food basket, which is cotton candy (you will need honey for cakes, so you need something else)..
it is consumable, but just to increase SAN value, so the pals won't eat it that much unless really necessary, like if there's nothing else to eat...
so, put one food on the first slot, then put cotton candy in the other 4 slots(or is it 5 slots?)...
that way, the other foods would be delivered to another chest available, but I haven't encountered any of my pals that deliver food or ingredients into the fridge...
but this method doesn't really work all the time, specially if you play on a server or if you put pals with high demand of food in your base but the farm just couldn't keep up with the demands...
this trick worked fairly well at the start in my base on a server, but since I played with a friend in my guild, he kept replacing the workers into ones with high demand of food, so this method actually broke once...
I haven't tried it on my solo world, but it should work nicely...
I hope this could help..
Shame they can't be directed to carry to the coolbox

This is why I keep the food box, fridge, and ranch close to each other.
