Reloading weapons like crossbows and muskets should have persistent stages because dodge.
The issue I have here that dodge is love dodge is life, but using ranged weapons like crossbow and musket have animations to reload, but if i dodge during a reload, even if i hear the sound cue like the crossbow is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ back, it does not complete the action but starts from the beginning of the reload cycle,

This is also true with the musket, which has four steps to reload, but if i dodge i need to complete the reload from the beginning, no matter how many steps are completed.

I am generally waiting on the audio cue on when to roll, but the reload goes past that and my weapon ends up not being readied when i bring it up to fire.

nah they are early game weapon they should have a negative, and at that early game you can afford to tank a few hits or go behind walls while your pet tank for you, also unless you are playing on hard with X4 damage taken or with spawn rate X2 X3 where you fight multiple boss at once, nothing really does anything at that lvl on normal, also you can build multiple musket to shoot without reloading XD,you can also sprint while reloading

not a ba d idea. it sucks hearing the click during a reload, only for your crossbow to still be unloaded after a quick dodge.

yeah they did this in Warhammer darktide and its kinda nice to be able to knock the mag off the weapon, dodge, then slap a new mag on the weapon, dodge, then rack it and start shootin.

dunno what this would look like on a crossbow other than pull string back, dodge and then lay a bolt in the thing.

would be neat though.
