In my multiplayer world, I chain fail 50-50's and fail 90% caps at a rate that absolutely embarrasses my single player world where I get more predictable results. The difference? I have L4 capture rate from the statue in my multiplayer world.
This has been reported and even documented statistically by several people at this point. It's a new bug in 1.4 since they fixed respec meds resetting your effigy bonus. Buffing your bonus through the statue can impact your capture rates by around 50%, and this isn't reflected in the percentage you see when you try to cap, indicating a code error separate from how the % chance to catch is presented to the player.
Don't touch lifmunk effigies until this is patched, and you will have a better experience.
@OP In don't know, i don't really have any trouble on my Main world where i strengthened my capture power with the effigies, i created a new world where i didn't exchange these for capture power and i definitely had a harder time catching them.
I believe it has something to do with the spheres that are used. Like these spheres unlock at a certain level and Pals have a certain level. So use the sphere with the corresponding "level" and i shouldn't be as much of a problem.
Though remember as you get to higher level pals they are naturally harder to catch.
Also remember to use poison and fire arrows exclusively to help the capture process, since burning or poisoned pals are easier to catch.
