I love this game but man it's gonna suck having to restart from the beginning come full release/major story updates lol
Idk. How do you guys feel about the possibility of needing to restart from scratch.

Kinda worried all the grinding one does now will be pointless

Set server settings to easy custom build your base back up and put it back to normal.

When I start a new I do this then set it back to norma.

Has there been any Pocketpair statement regarding a wipe/do-over come full release? Because I haven't seen such, and the general rule in game development is that if the devs haven't said anything along those lines, it isn't happening.

This is probably just a me thing, but I think the early game's a lot more fun than later on, so I'm not too worried about starting over.

I have played early access games that have forced this many times. Hell, Starbound forced me to start over multiple times from multi-hundred hour files.

No, i fully agree.
For me the road is the fun, not endgame.

Based on their past, the game will remain largely the same. It will just acquire a few final activities. But maybe the sudden extra 160 million to their budget (assuming they retain 50% of their take from their cut) could change a few things.

Restarting is fun if there's actual changes to explore.

I'll probably just crank XP rate to max because games like this are better when progress isn't tied to character level

Now that I know how to play I will do things faster, better and more efficient. Even more if I change the world settings, not gonna be that hard

I already started over twice from swapping servers to play so its not really that bad once you know what you doing its easy mode even on defualt settings. I mean with what I know now I can just make like 50 basic spheres, and wood club and just walk around all the low level areas and get ass tons of levels its even easier at night as the running ones are sleeping just walk up beat them with a club or spear and throw the sphere and start beating up the next sleeping one whilt it captures lol

Its Alpha you should be braced and ready for it lol. Best case they do a soft wipe and you keep you char, but they wipe all the bases because map changes, and you keep stuff in your pal box lol.

This your first EA game? Wipes are all but inevitable. Even if they didn't, you would almost certainly need to make a new world to access new content.

It seems like everyone has a different way of thinking. for various reasons, I have third chara in palworld. Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Fallout4, etc, I made multiplex charactors in other games.
It's the same feeling as playing an arcade games from the beginning.

I never consider progress in EA games to be guaranteed, which is why I find complaints about wipes amusing since in my mind that should be expected. Unless the devs make an official announcement that launch is soon, they'll usually let you know that the wipes/resets are done with and that you can finally settle.
