Is an upgrade to sandbag which you get later that gives them a machine gun to use. Outside of that only specific Pals get guns, and those are usually your special F skill only.
The best defense for a base is actually to find a plateau to put your base on so the raids cant reach you at all.
emplacement comes with machine gun mount
and then you have to feed it a ton of ammo.
imo, the pals that summon A HELLFIRE VOLCANO under the enemy are far more effective at combat than the machine gun emplacements.
if the devs make the gunpowder formula cheaper or more accessible, it might be more viable.
but as it is right now, i dont recommend the guns over the seige unit type pals that launch armageddon from range. just way more damage, huge aoe, and way more often. and you dont have to pay for the ammo.
Not every Pal has an active skill, some are Passive, like Cattiva's Carrying Capacity boost.
And some have to be crafted, like Lifmunk's Machine Gun, after which summoning it and holding F will have it sit on your head and shoot nearby enemies.
Now I just got higher tier stuff in, and I take out a lot of them put them in my team and change their 3 moves fun fact you can pick their 3 moves swap them to AOEs. Then base gets attacked its just a ♥♥♥♥ show for the raiders once they get spotted by the base of tornadoas exploiding fireballs and lighting bolts lol
its actually far better to be a nomad for a while, mashing stone and wood, turn them to pokeballs, until you find a rich ore spot to settle to.
thankfully the bench and the pokeballs are fast to make. doesn't excuse the tediousness though.
