How to stop pals from cutting down trees instead of working at the conveyor belts?
Is there a way to stop them from doing senseless work like cutting trees in my camp?

gonna have to wait for the Path Finding/AI update listed on the road map. They are aware of the issues and commented as such, and stated they plan to work on it in due time. Remember its early access, AI of pals not that high on their objective list right now.

Once you have a ton of wood, just switch to a pal that doesn't have the lumber trait. Just switch to pal that drops stuff you need, like coin, spheres, food, etc.

Because apparently nobody has ever tried it yet, just pick up you pal with "v" and carry them over to your resource depot. that game will give you text saying whether that pal can be assigned to that resource. Throw them at the spot and they're permanently assigned to that particular spot.

you can chop down the tree and put something on top of it's spot like the wooden platform or something, the trees wouldn't regrow and your pal wouldn't have to chop it.

You will see some tiny sparkles on where it was before, it is a way the game reminds you that a structure is blocking a resource respawn point.

Edit: also once you unlock 'Monitoring Stand' you could deactivate individual Pals speciality (lumbering, handiwork, etc.) so you can force them to focus on tasks you deemed important.

surprised only one person brought up the monitoring stand, they changed it somewhat recently so thats it's no longer mostly useless! In that you can manually pick what tasks you want a pal to do, so say, if you dont want a cattiva to mine, turn it off and it will just walk around base!

okay but that's wat cattiva is best at >_>

this is a resurrected thread from February. back then the Monitoring Stand didn't have that feature.
