Teaching skill against pal's natural element?
Sorry if it sounds dumb, but is it viable?
I was often met with these scenario:

1. let's say i teach water skill to Foxparks which is a fire pal.
then I fought Mammorest (which is a grass element) USING the water skills, and I get the message "Foxparks's attack are highly effective against Mammorest!"
I reckon its because foxparks is a fire pal to begin with, it doesnt matter what skill I use.

2. So the damage bonus is actually from the pal's type, not the skill itself?
if I teach water skill to a fire pal then, do I get less damage output and vice versa?

3. I should always teach the same element skill as the pal?

The damage bonus is from the attack's type. The color of the damage numbers indicates this.
Also, pals using an attack with their same type will deal slightly more damage.

but then .. how come i get the message of highly effective attack, when water is weak against grass?

did you replace all 3 attacks with water?

The message box windows doesn't seem accurate and sometimes have a delay atm, i often get messages that my party pals learned a new skill when a base pal leveled up

Also water only weak against electric, it still takes normal damage from grass, for now every element is weak/strong against one type of damage excluding fire which is the only type which is strong against 2 types atm, the elemental match up is in the survival guide if you wanna check it out

After doing a little more testing, it looks like it only gives the notification when an attack gets both the same type and supereffective bonuses.
