Let Them Eat Cake?
I am at the point where I've unlocked the breeding pen. I managed to get a Mozzarina for milk, but constantly die to the bees. Nevertheless, I do manage to get some honey before being wiped out. I go to make the cake and...

Even with a tier 2 fire pal on duty it takes one full day and a half with the pal and me holding down the F key the entire time to get a single cake completed. This is around 15-20 real life minutes. And I'm in casual play mode, with no other modifications.

I understand that stronger pals are in other parts of the world that can cook faster, or you can breed stronger pals, but right now I can't even secure a queenbee to farm honey because the bee pals are too strong for my team to handle, even the couple bosses I have caught and bring along like Chillex and Azurobe or Katress. I just crafted metal armor as well to survive longer, just so I can grab the honey that drops from the kamikaze bees. I have gotten the queenbee to a low health capture point but almost end up dead while attempting the catch, so far the yellow balls giving a capture rate only of about 3% to start.

Am I just not yet ready to breed? I've done what I could to level up my catch rate at my stone Anubis. And if I do need to be stronger, why do they give you the breeding pen so early?

level catch rate up higher, and stop trying to tame the queen be, just tame a regular bee pal and youll be fine, i caught one at like lvl 10

I agree that creating cake takes too long. Way too long. I use a tier 2 kindling Pal and creating 16 cakes took longer than creating 2800 steel lmao

get a high level kindling pal, if you don't have one go off and do something else instead of holding f for ages

How do I catch them successfully? They seem to kamikaze too quickly before i get their health down enough.

I only have 1 tier 2 kindling pal right now, but I had 3 overall pals working the fire, like Incinerams. They take turns swapping out but man it's insane!

A tip I heard from a previous thread said that you can toss a pal sphere at a one of the bees about to explode and it will reset them and give you more time.

Beegardes are best caught if you're on a flying Pal - they typically only trigger their suicide move if you're in melee range. The "caught in Sphere" animation also completely resets their attack animations, so stops any in-progress attempt.

Multiple Pals can't work the same station, you need a single pal with high Kindling (like Ragnahawk who has level 3).

Cinnamoths also drop Honey on death (but aren't Ranch droppers). They're much easier to farm by kills.

If you want to crossbreed for a Beegarde to save some time and effort on catching, Tanzee+Melpaca is the earliest available combo to do that.

Don't bother with Ranching for Eggs and Milk - the merchant in the Small Settlement sells them cheaply and you don't use gold for much else in the game.

Additionally, I honestly wouldn't bother with Breeding much at all until you hit Flame Cauldron (boosts Kindling efficiency, Level 20), and Electric Kitchen (level 41) to amp up your speed.

Find a few huge dragon egg red yellow, 50/50 chance to find a lvl 4 kindling that can make a cake a min pretty much

I will try the breeding then XD...then go out and try catching them in the wild later when I've gotten a bit stronger. Thanks for the breeding tip!

I enjoyed the game more before I tried the breeding feature. My progress slowed to a crawl, went from game day 60 to 200+ doing barely anything besides setting up the farm/ranch/baking/breeding pipeline.

You can find Jormuntide Ignis eggs on the volcano island to the southwest. They have level 4 refining. If you have a flying mount you can just fly around and look for them in safety.

You probably want at least two of them so you can parallel process your cakes. Split the load between two cooking pots (or even more) so it gets done that much faster.

Also bees are easier to catch at night, you can get the jump on them and they don't all aggro you instantly.

Just to clarify because this is incorrect and missing some crucial info.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKqR9YxtbFQ

Jormuntide Ignis hatches from Huge Dragon Eggs (purple and black), not Scorching (red and yellow), and the only place to specifically find Huge Dragon Eggs that will hatch into Jormuntide Ignis is at the base of the volcano on the north side (where the castle ruins are); practically at endgame.

You can certainly fly over and nab a few eggs with a flying pal, just be careful.

Even the electric kitchen doesn't seem all that quick w/o some high-level kindling.

Ragnahawks seem like a priority for acquisition in quantity given that you'll probably also want a consistent supply of ingots, and perhaps charcoal (for carbon fiber, unless you've got more coal than you can reasonably use for refined metal ingots).
