How do I catch them successfully? They seem to kamikaze too quickly before i get their health down enough.
I only have 1 tier 2 kindling pal right now, but I had 3 overall pals working the fire, like Incinerams. They take turns swapping out but man it's insane!
Multiple Pals can't work the same station, you need a single pal with high Kindling (like Ragnahawk who has level 3).
Cinnamoths also drop Honey on death (but aren't Ranch droppers). They're much easier to farm by kills.
If you want to crossbreed for a Beegarde to save some time and effort on catching, Tanzee+Melpaca is the earliest available combo to do that.
Don't bother with Ranching for Eggs and Milk - the merchant in the Small Settlement sells them cheaply and you don't use gold for much else in the game.
Additionally, I honestly wouldn't bother with Breeding much at all until you hit Flame Cauldron (boosts Kindling efficiency, Level 20), and Electric Kitchen (level 41) to amp up your speed.
I will try the breeding then XD...then go out and try catching them in the wild later when I've gotten a bit stronger. Thanks for the breeding tip!
You probably want at least two of them so you can parallel process your cakes. Split the load between two cooking pots (or even more) so it gets done that much faster.
Also bees are easier to catch at night, you can get the jump on them and they don't all aggro you instantly.

Jormuntide Ignis hatches from Huge Dragon Eggs (purple and black), not Scorching (red and yellow), and the only place to specifically find Huge Dragon Eggs that will hatch into Jormuntide Ignis is at the base of the volcano on the north side (where the castle ruins are); practically at endgame.
You can certainly fly over and nab a few eggs with a flying pal, just be careful.
Ragnahawks seem like a priority for acquisition in quantity given that you'll probably also want a consistent supply of ingots, and perhaps charcoal (for carbon fiber, unless you've got more coal than you can reasonably use for refined metal ingots).
I got my honey from the Cinnamoths
