Does Feed bags really work?

Got the minor feed bag and put food into the slot, but only seen once that my character automaticly eats but several times gotten the message that my Pal team is hungry! Is the feed bag broken or do you need the correct food? I had toast with jam in the feed bag.

yea, but pal can't eat when mounted. Dismount and hungry pal will eat several snacks

I've only noticed that message when it's referring to the pal that is actively out with you/mounted by you. Feed that pal directly/put them away and you're good to go.

correct ^ also player and pals will only autofeed when they hit 50% hunger.
