All Pals at all bases sick and hungry when logging back in for the day
Its been two days in a row where i have logged off and the next day i log in all Pals are stuck at the pal box starving and have some form of sickness. I play on a dedicated server that my buddy runs. This was not happening b4 but the last two days i have logged on i have this issue. They have plenty food, beds and spring to keep them happy. they dont get sick when im playing throughout the day but over night they all just get stuck for no reason. I have to make a lot of medical supplies and its just a huge annoyance.

Ive also come into an issue where i heal my pals and legit 1 minute later they are sick again. ive gone through countless materials healing these same pals, 3-4 times and they are just constantly sick. idk whats going on but its getting real annoying, ive healed my ragnahawk 5 times in 10 minutes

Definitely a bug, there is a mod that helps on nexusmods but other than that we have to wait for a fix. Also if you are away from a base too long and come back the Pals will all be stuck around the palbox doing nothing and standing around. Definitely needs a fix of some sort.

Yea idk i dont really want to mod the game i just want it to work in the first place lmao, ive seen other people talk abt the pals getting stuck bug but i havent seen anyone talk abt the constant sickness problem im having. just frustrating

Yea it's a bug something about if there's no player within a certain distance of the base the AI kinda just stops working after a set time.

This seems to have started with the server update, I logged in an like my whole camp was sick or depressed like I had them set to max work, and I'm still at the default!

Glad to know it's not only me.

The weird thing to me is that we have had a 2nd base full of pals that are always in good condition, functioning appropriately, but the 1st base everyone is depressed. The 2nd base has been running for a week. Nobody is hungry at the 1st base anymore, just depressed. And I can't get enough bones to make medicine for them all.

So after my comment on this, I played later and suddenly they were all OK again. As well per your comment @MULTUMI NPARVO, my second base was normal too the whole time, only at the first.

Seems indeed a weird bug, or maybe they reset something after the patch that made it so, as it seemed to have started with it.

Holy crap, as quick as I type this I hop into my server, and my first base is fine, but EVERYONE in my 2nd is unhealthy/depressed/fractured, and just generally broken. What the heck! The bug if it is one seems to move around between bases.

Yes my pals were starving and they're still depressed I'm slowly working on fixing that the best suggestion I can give you guys is when you're about to log out put your pals back in the box that way they don't overwork themselves or starve because the food disappears when you log off I agree it needs to be fixed too hopefully one day they will

After getting more established to setup a couple of lettuce and tomato plantations in each base, making salad, pizza, pancakes, or other foods for them, they definitely seem happier than they have been and I no longer come back to a plague camp of everyone dying.

I'm willing to right this off as simply malnourishing my pals with only berries far too long.

Now I'm just down to complaints about the Effigies bugging out my capture rates that I don't bother trying to capture anymore.

In single player you can do berries only with no problems, so I doubt that´s the problem. Pathing is a huge issue though, pals can get stuck on a feeder and starve to death.

So I came back and both my main bases were all sick and diseased again.

I think the problem stems from the fact that the left-most slot gets emptied while running perpetually on a dedicated server, and then some dumb pal decides to start filling the open left-most slot with a raw food, like berries or wheat, that then causes everyone to go malnourished, sick and depressed.

This is one of the most annoying problems with the game in general - Pals gather whatever and drop where ever an open slot exist willy-nilly. This is not only aggravating they put things where unwanted and already exist elsewhere better placed, but now the lack of intelligence in where they put things directly affects the health of the Pals!

One of two things should occur, either 1) they automatically move food items from right to left, ensuring a constant preference of food in a logical order, or 2) program the damn Pals to stop placing things in merely open slots, and rather place them where they already exist.

I'd vote for both, as either is highly annoying in itself, as I put things in certain places, and it kills me when they drop crap where it doesn't belong!

I really hope they do something about this either way, I'm tired of having to grind medicine every day to fix an entire camp due to a simple lack of feature intelligence yet. Please fix!

Every time I get back on, all my pals are just standing around not working and one of my bases is full of coal ore and trees but for some reason they only mine the ore whenever I’m there I’ll come back and the coal is at 300 while my ore is only at 80 when there’s more ore to mine than coal. Also the amount of supplies needed for medicine is crazy when I have 45 pals working and they’re all sick every time I come back I never have time to do anything else but gather bones and horns just to make them all healthy and they don’t heal on their own in the pal box which is a huge problem they should at least heal over time in there even if that took hours I’d rather let them heal in there than spend 2 hours gather supplies for medicine… so annoyed by that it’s the one thing that makes me not want to play

This is caused I find mostly due to the broken dynamic of food storage, particularly the feed bins for pals. They only eat from the left to right, but as soon as the left-most slot is empty, a well-meaning gathering pal will drop some random raw food there being empty now, which pisses everyone else off to depress them as low-quality food.

This is simply bad behavior, and the devs need to fix this. I stated above some options, that doesn't mean they'll adopt them, but here's to hope.

For now, all you can do is keep high-quality food in the first slot only, and make sure you always have enough while the pals are out for your playtime. I only have food in the first slot, and fill the rest with honey or cotton candy as they don't expire. Only the first slot matters until they fix this, it's bad if they fall to second anyways as your first will be filled with garbage shortly anyways.

I play on my private server with others, which keeps running when you're gone, so we've gotten in the habit of putting our pals to bed when we're done for the day playing. This keeps them far more sane and don't have to risk running out of food until we're back.
Make medicine. Cure.

They get stuck in place or outside the base and go hungry. If the base gets raided sometimes they are stuck outside and can't get back in. Leave your gates open.

I don't know your issues. I'm just making suggestions.

Too many Pals doing the same job is not good either. Spread out the work.

Some Pals are resilient some are not. The ones that get sick often, well , get rid of them. :)

Another factor is where you built your base. Terrain has a lot to do with how the Pals function and get around. Flat ground is better than lumpy ground or if the base is built on a pond or stream.

Having to many large Pals at base unless it is flat and open will also screw them up. Spread out equipment. Have good pathing for them.

Make quality food for the pals. Make comfy beds for the pals.

These are just all issues I had when playing and fixed over time.

Happy gaming. Ciao.
