Yep. Pal pathing is somewhat borked but it is doable.

Single player is fine, plus you can use in-game settings to customise your game. Multiplayer is hardly worth it as nobody seems to chat AT ALL on the servers I have tried, both Official and Community, though I obviously haven't tried them all. It's just people using multiplayer servers to play a single-player game! Online servers seem to vanish for hours if not days, too, so at least single player means you can get on with playing the game. I've played 150 hours solo, including time on Servers where nobody chats or wants to team up. I might not bother with multiplayer henceforth as it's not worth server downtime anyway.

Oh, and you can get some nice QoL mods too.

100%, playing alone is very valid. I play with a friend but even then, we're often on different sides of the map doing our own thing.

No need for any other players but yourself to play this and have fun. I prefer playing with others, but game works fine single player.

it's a solid single player experience.

Matter of fact, 90% of the issues people are facing is because they are playing in servers instead of single player or the separate multiplayer instances.

70 hours into singleplayer no regrets till now so u dont need other ppl but playing with friends is mostly more fun anyways

I should add that you can solo bosses at or even above your own level reliably, as long as you have a handle on the mechanics, your gear is up to par, and you've got good creatures to rely on.

Single player has enough content, after that, maybe open your world to friends, but never online multiplayer

Am on SP now and imo is great. Although can be a little frustrating to OCD to lay things all over in base (depending where u set up shop) and sometimes nooks & crannies or natural resources blockades large pals (who tend to have higher working efficiency) and render them slacks off doing nothing (or stuck somewhere that require respawn via palbox)

100%! I always set up on wide open spaces now to cut down on this, but it can still be a pain...

It's perfectly soloable. All the default parameters are pretty comfy and can be altered at will. I only play single since I don't have a circle to play with, and I want to first encounter the Pals all on my own with minimal spoilage.

My 1st base in the chokepoint church ruins lead to Ryan Syndicate Tower - I OVERESTIMATED the intellectualism of Pals and their weight classes when it comes to large pals....

55hrs, all of them in singleplayer. Doable, I'm finding it fun although I plan on playing with friends when they're free to do so. But I've taken down the tower/faction bosses and am at the point where I'm building a luxury base for my favorite pals because I'm swimming in materials/resources.
