How do I ride my Pals?

I have Nitewing and a saddle for Nitewing but I don't know the command to ride the pal on console controls?

You've got to craft its saddle on the pal gear workbench.

I just figured it out after mounting with mouse and keyboard the key is X on controller

i assume it's the interact button? for keyboard users it's F and we hold it. try holding the interact button?

I made my saddle for my "deer"; I have saddle in invintory; I have 2 of the deers; I use E to throw it out; but when I get next to it, there is a lock icon where the F should be???
