can i get this game to run on windows 7

legit question. part of a steam group of users play on 7.
most steam games do work on 7 when they say 10+

Pretty sure the game won't launch in windows 7, had a friend who tried it and he said he got nothing but a black screen

If you don't have the money for a windows license, linux is free. Works well if not better on proton.
Especially if you use the -dx12 flag for the game on amd graphics.

Has nothing to do with Steam. The game is made in Unreal Engine 5, which uses Microsoft's graphics library DirectX, specifically version 12 which is incompatible with Windows 7 (purely because Microsoft chose not to make it so, to encourage upversioning)
