It's only if you host a server for a larger amount of people. For solo play 16 GB is enough. When I'm playing 60-65 % of my RAM is allocated, so thats +- 10 GB.

Playing solo right now, game consumes less than 5 GB as of writing this post. 8 GB to 16 GB is considered entry level these days considering how unoptimized games (and software in general) became.

I host a server on my Pc for like a total of 4 and it takes around 22 Gb Ram after a few hours with all the world drop lying around. Don't worry about it if you play on dedi/offi servers or solo

32gb is the normal for gaming pcs... has been for around 2 years.... graphics cards have more than 16 these days...

my friend was hosting a server on a laptop with ddr3 8 gb m8. it's fine lol. i've hosted his server on my pc with 16gb of ram and playing the game simultaneously.

currently using 4.2GB, in base building, 32GB total, it goes up when im going out exploring, 16GB bare minimum for solo i guess
