Nothing at all about parentage, and that's total crap that Pokemon was never going to have evolutions.
Would have to fact check the pokemon gen 1 evolution thing, but regardless its still not neccessarily true for this game. Pengullet and Pinking are the best example to give. They are completely unrelated to each other. Same for beakon and Ragnahawk. There is no real "parent pals" in this game other than MAYBE elizabee and beegarde, and thats only assuming they reproduce the same way as bees.
This game does not need to be like Pokemon... It needs to double down on the things that make it good and distinguish it from Pokemon. Base building, breeding, Dungeons, etc.
The fact that its not turn based and is a survival sandbox game ALREADY seperates it in a meaningful way from pokemon.
That being said, i like elemental sidegrades more than evolution. It makes every creature "relevant" rather than "this is just a weak stepping stone to a real dude".
Theres a ruin in i think the snowy biome that has lore relevance.
I think that they will develop the game for the time and will put huge update or DLC after some time they develop the game and put huge update......
