Palworld not launching on Linux Mint
I have Steam and Palworld installed on Linux Mint, i7 quad core(8th gen) and 16gb RAM. When I click on Launch, the tab just shows launching but the game doesn't actually open up. What changes do I need to make to launch it up? Also, is there a way to launch it using Proton, and with which version of Proton?

If you install it under Linux, it should just automatically install it under Proton. Worked seamlessly here, but I had installed some games under it previously. You running AMD, Nvidia, or Intel graphics? X11 or Wayland backend? These are factors you'll want to look into, probably. (Least-flaky results would probably be through X11 on AMD gpu... Most problem-prone would probably be through Wayland on Nvidia...I'd guess, at least.)

Also check vram requirements.

Check ProtonDB

It should run on default Proton 8.0 or Proton Experimental. So far, there are no known problems running Palworld on Proton that require any changes.

If you mean Intel integrated graphics, that's most likely not going to cut it, unfortunately. Not sure how Intel's dedicated gpu cards (Arc) are doing, but maybe a future driver update could get those going with it if they're not there, yet.

Need to be more specific.

In Steam, click Help > System Information

You might have to wait a few seconds for the info to fill up. Then, scroll down and copy the "Video Card" section.

There's 1 working report with Intel Xe (11th gen CPU), but 1 failed report with Intel HD 630 (7th gen CPU).

Yours is in between so maybe we can figure out a workaround, or at least get more info to report it to Proton devs.

Linux Mint should have already installed needed Intel GPU drivers. So your issue should be something else. You could try switching to GE-Proton8-30 or maybe Experimental.

Have set launch options for Palworld in steam?

On the contrary, it's most likely the iGPU or driver (Mesa) limitations, and not Proton.

There are literally no other reports where the specific Proton version is an issue for Palworld (either all 8.0/Experimental/GE work, or none because of Intel Arc or iGPU issues).

Use the latest proton GE and launch command:

-dx12

Not sure the Intel graphics are powerful enough for the game.

Yes, you are right, it works with -dx12 launch parameter, but the game is a slideshow with Intel HD Graphich 620 (ThinkPad T470).
