which pal is best for which ores and stones to mine?

i hava Blazamut (no. 96), Astegon (no. 98), digtoise (no. 67) and menasting (no. 99)

they all have mining 3-4

I would go for whichever ones are smallest and take the least food, if its between ones with the same mining level.

I like Reptyro for my mining base. They do a good job mining ore and coal without taking too much food. They also have Rank 3 kindling too so they can smelt the ore when they're done mining.

A pack of anubis is better. They are small (very good for not getting stuck), fast and can transport as well once they are done breaking the ore.

I'd think Blazamut personally. As you don't want other work suitability on the Pal, but kindling is kind of an exception to that rule. Plus he's got mining 4, though that really only matters if you make him work the quarry I think.

Digtoise is great for mining on the go with his spin to win. You can even upgrade it via the condenser. But I don't know if the headband works on ore at the base if that's what you're talking about.

He can definitely mine ore well when deployed from your party slot and he has the headband. Otherwise he's not really the best as far as I know.

Yeah in party he is fine but in base he is huge and gets stuck on thigns easy, seems to have too many issues. I gave up the "mining" base and just used digtoise with 1k hp, and rest in weight and my pal I game with there as well digtoise HOLD X move just tears stuff to peices we pick it all up go back to base boom tons of ore. Like for metal I do one the churckes in the red fall looking biome its got a fast travel nearby and like 6 metal nodes that is enough to last me a while. Then for coal I go to desert near anubus but honestly its out the way from quick travel poitns so I might find new spot or put down a palbox just byitself near by and fast travel there.

mining 4 will seek out quartz first
mining 3 will seek out coal first
mining 2 will seek out iron
all mining will seek out stone if nothing else is left.
Lower mining seems to avoid higher Nodes when In Base, * but if in Party will mine anything its thrown at.

I ask because I have a place where there is both coal and ore

Because of the AI pathing issues, it's literally Tombat and Anubis or nothing for your base. Large Pals bug out too frequently.

Digtoise is great specifically for if you're going out mining yourself - chuck him at another node while you work at one, you'll be done quicker.

You can actually use Astegon too. He has 4 in mining and even thought he's big, he doesn't get stuck because its flying and mines from range.

if you do not have the grapple gun unlocked and are solo mining grab BronCherry's each add 100 to your carry cap. They only need to be in party not out and active **also you need to have the saddle crafted and equipped

yes Grapple will move a much larger load .. but not everyone is there yet, this is for those who aren't.

I would use Reptyro for mining if you have a mining only base. They aren't TOO big and seem to do a good job. Late game use Anubis since they are humanoid size. Just make sure there are no trees or logging sites at the base because for some stupid reason they will log rather than mine given the option.

Really wish this game had the ability to set preferences on individual pal work preferences :(
