is there a way to transfer skills from one pal to another?

I used a powerful skill fruit on a ribbuny, but want to try and find another with better passives but then they wouldn't have the powerful skill, am I just SOL or is there a way to transfer skills?

Unfortunately, no. You'll need to find the fruit again.

You cannot transfer. If you find epic skills on trees keep them until you find a pal with the right passives that you want to keep. Also the merchants in the "main" settlements offer some nice skills as well

and that's not the small settlement to the west of the starting island right?

while you can't transfer the skill off the pal, you can try and breed it into another pal :)

That's "a" settlement, but there are others out there. There is a desert island to the east and a a bit north that has a bigger town with more stuff in it.
