The Fall Off
Guys,

The emptiness of the game hits hard right about 20 hours in. The beginning has decent pacing, everything feels amazing cause it's all new and you're exploring the mechanics and variety of pals - then you get a mount.

You start moving around the map, you've reached making a makeshift handgun and by this point in the tree, it becomes an absolute slog of a grind. Just endless tedium.

The map is largely empty, everything takes metal ingots and once you've flown around a little bit, you've uh... you've seen everything.

Really holding out that this momentum they have carries them into developing this game, because it ran out of gas in its current state very quickly.

My point wasn't no content, it's lack of engagement.

Like some survival games, craft, build, and here with Pals. yes with a lore it will be better.. but it's an early access, since 10 days ? and for this price, i think it's better than some games .

Yes, that would explain the "early access" bit. I understand that, and acknowledged it. I just really hope they make good on the development cycle instead of being content with a large paycheck because either would be understandable with the latter being upsetting.

This is exactly why I will add this game to my wishlist and wait until it is a finished product. Looks great, but I don't trust Early Access. You are buying the game as-is with no guarantee of a single byte of added progress from the point you hit purchase. Not worth the "risk".

Clearly Survival/Collection Video Games are not what you're interested in.

Luckily for you, Steam has millions upon millions of other options to choose from. No need to complain here, go find yourself a product you'll enjoy.

Have a great evening, mate.

I don't feel it's dropped off yet and I have 30 hours so far in the game.

I'll be more than happy with more content to come out, but I feel I have plenty of stuff to accomplish still.

Now mind you, I'm playing this completely blind - no wikis that give me the guidance on the best breeding combinations, no videos of "OP farming spots", no maps of the totems to speed up boosting capture power.

Just a few things I still want to do:
  • Reach level 50 (still level 32)
  • Capture 10 of each Pal
  • Capture a Sparkly of each pal (very long term)
  • Capture a boss version of each pal (very long term)
  • Build the most efficient base I can (getting there with Ore)
  • Collect every schematic tier
  • Challgen runs (e.g. Hardcore Nuzlocke style run)
  • join a RP server and try something different
  • Beat all the bosses

There is just plenty of stuff for me to complete. Now if you find it a slag to grind, not sure what to say.

Even though I enjoy Palworld for what it is at the moment and would even argue that it's worth it's current price point, I can't disagree with you if you're going into this with the intent that they'll make good on development. As I said above, they could very well conclude that they've made their money (likely far more than they dreamed) and ship it as is. As you pointed out, nothing says they can't. Hopefully not.

100% agreed sir. The hype will die down real fast when ppl can’t avoid the flaws anymore.

I would agree. I think it'll lose steam over the next few weeks and you'll always have die hards (with any game). Honestly impressed with people who sink 1000s of hours into games I couldn't imagine putting more than 50-100 in.

well somehow i still enjoying the game well after 20 hours in
