I know nothing about steam decks but if it were a PC I'd say it sounds like it's overheating or to stressful for the steamdeck and a straight to off is often a trigger of a safety feature to protect devices.

The beauty of the collection of pixels presented on the screen is not the measure of the intensity of the game upon your system. Unless you are playing on absolute minimum settings and even then, you're likely taxing such a low end device.

Powerful games!
Yeah sorry just not graphical fidelity that matters. There is a reason minecraft servers specialize because it can be one of the most intensive specs on a server front for ram especially.
But all open world games in general take a lot out of good PCs I will also say that at least on my server the game appears to have some memory leak issues as the ram gets up to 17GB before crashing and resetting out server this takes time usually but it's worth noting.

I know nothing of steam decks but that would be my best guess.

Its all down to how it is built, those powerful games could be efficient code that use the CPU and GPU better and doesn't stress both of them to much. I seen games that should run just fine but runs horrible due to how it was coded and what that code did.
So it has nothing to do with steamdeck able to run "powerful games". It is always the game that is the problem.

Why would it be disrespectful to the developers?

There was a similar issue as yours but they manage to fix it (not sure if there is a difference between Steam Deck and Steam Deck OLED)

Why would it be disrespectful to the developers?

Mouse and keyboard controls are superior over a controller in every way shape and form. Developers work hard and want their games to be played with maximum input from players, when you gimp input out with sh**y controllers, it's disrespectful

Why would using an input they didn't intend (even though they did intend it anyways) be disrespectful to them? How does that affect them?
