Question about eggs

So, I just started searching for Dragon Eggs around the Volcano, I understand that the spawn rate is random and it´s shared with the other fire eggs there are there, but my question is, do you have to pick up the eggs for them to have a chance to spawn Dragon Eggs or they just reset every night? Im asking because I see alot of eggs, my flying mount is veeery slow and I hate that I have to go to each egg I see and pick it up and then destroy it.
If they just reset every night then I will just do a flyby without picking any normal eggs and then come back the other day!

As far as I've noticed, the random eggs remain the same until they respawn after pick up. I have ignored one common egg since I started the game and whenever I pass it, it's still a common egg, so I guess you have to pick them up in order for them to change.

finding dragon eggs is in my eyes harder than just catching the dragons u want

The dragon eggs I stumbled across were all located in pretty inacessible spots off the beaten paths. Like high up on lonely mountain cliffs. Mostly found Jormuntide Ignis eggs around Obsidian Mountains.

Double typed dragon pal eggs are easier to find. Chillet eggs in the Astral Mountains are a common sight. They're ice eggs though.

Yeah, it´s the Jormuntide Ignis I´m after and as far as I saw, the only way to get em is through finding eggs. Found about 4-5 so far, all with bad stats.
Now, normally I hate doing this but it gives so much Ark Wyvern Eggs hunt vibes alltho it´s really not the same sweat :D

You can also catch them in the sanctuary north of Obsidian Mountains. It is less tiresome to just passively keeping an eye out for eggs while flying to places.

They're level 40+ at the sanctuary. It's very nice if you can luck into one early by snatching an egg, but by the time the quality of your pals is really going to matter you should be able to tour the sanctuary and farm them

Worth mentioning is that the pals at a sanctuary respawn at a highly accelerated rate. You can just do a circuit of the lower and upper area and you'll find new pals every round

Just be warned, those dragon eggs can be a real disappointment.

I thought I hit the jackpot when I was the first to find one on our server, but it was a dang Relaxaurus.
