too easy to accidently kill pal before capture
dont like how pal must be at 2% hp to give 40% rate capture (made up percentages) lest the next time i attack at all it dies

there should be more room for error (say 10% hp = 50% rate capture), and that rate capture should be based on % hp instead of actual number hp

Stun Baton. Does little damage and paralyses the pals.

They expect you to just use better Spheres.
But there really isn't much of an option, since there are so many level and Sphere requirement gaps throughout progression. :mkmandrake:

There's definitely a phase of the mid early game where one whack of damage isn't enough, but the second whack crits and kills the pal. I think that's what the statue of power is good for; boosting your catch rate so you can get those weaker pals easier.

Looking forward to this in one or two more levels. I've been using the crossbow when I could be using better weapons because I don't have a proper way to stun pals.

i normally only use my pal to maybe initialy dmg a pal *If there similar level +-3ish. then dmg the rest with my gun of choice normally to get it down to the last 10/15% health. 3-10% if im lucky. but im fine with wasting more balls on a 20% chance vs risking killing for a 30% etc

Even Legendary Sphere is not that much effective against against lvl 45-50 Pals. This game makes me think about my balls more than anything in my life.

you can use a weapon with smaller damage

for example I kill many pals with a single crossbow shot, but I can hit them with my spear instead

This is the way it is for almost all monster catching games, its called a challenge, More room for error = more chances of catching which makes the game easier overall while discouraging progress. Just use better spheres or status effects that increase capture rate That is what they are there for

I solved this by keeping one weak weapon or empty slot just for this. Not ideal but it worked.

@Lance especially with how expensive the more endgame spheres are and how much grinding they require. I feel like there should be more "sites", like for bones, ore, coal. After a certain point. The only thing you do in your base is just craft. Also the stone/logging sites are quite overtuned. Where at level 35 I didnt have a metal Axe yet, just because I've had 20k wood by then.

maybe the dev can implement a new weapon type that don't kill, and only makes the pals sleep / stun , that would solve the problem..
