Suggestion : Option to "Pause" Wood Log or Stone Production
Hello Dear Devs,

I think it would be great to have an option to "PAUSE" wood or Stone production in base. The reason is, many Pals has "multiple task" including Hauling at the end. But the problem is, if they have the Mining, or lumbering skills ( or seeding, crafting, harvesting ) prior to Hauling, they will "never" haul technically since you need to have 9999 logs or Stones for them to actually decide to haul.

The other option I've found is to "destroy" the stone pit or the Log camp site for them to actually Haul...

Which I don't want to since I need the log or stones. I am not sure if there is any "unique Transporting" Pals as I am level 40 and have discovers more then 30 different pals.. non of them have "unique transporting task" ability.

Meaning, I have to use a hauler that has a secondary trait... but then, I need to destroy that other resources management necessity in order for them to haul.. which is kinda weird.

I think if we had the option to "pause" Log camp or Stone Site mining, it would allow our Pals with Transporting "task" skill to actually haul.

If anyone knows any Pals that actually "only" Haul, please let me know in the comment.

However, having the option to pause work on Log camp or stone mining ( or any facility for that matter ) would still be a great option in the future.

Thank you kindly for reading.

Put relevant storage immediately adjacent to production buildings to increase hauling task efficiency. Close enough and pals can instantly pick up and deposit.

It would be nice if there was a way to manually assign work priorities. Like in RimWorld, which is where I assume they got their inspiration for Pokemon with different specialties in the base.

Agreed

All you gotta do is just put up the pals that are mining or chopping wood and put out pals that don't do those jobs. Problem solved.

Sure, if your base doesn't also have ore nodes. Being able to pause the quarry and timber so they focus on just the ore until I want them to get those resources again, or have them do the other tasks instead, that they have skills for, would be nice. The priority for some of the Pals is a little off, too. They will run and do a level 1 skill task ignoring the level 3 or 4 skill task I want them to do instead. Having more control over what tasks they do, and turning off tasks or workstations that I only need them to do part of the time when I say, would be nice.

A workaround I saw was to build your logging/quarry sites up on foundations with a staircase leading to them, then when you don't want them being worked you can just delete the staircase and pals will ignore them as they can't path to them. Kind of a bodge, but quicker and easier than deleting and rebuilding the entire facility every time.

The game needs a priorities task grid like in Stranded Alien Dawn or Rimworld.

we just need a quality of life update at some point that allows players to fine tune Pal priorities, among other things.

though i would like to see some of the more pressing matters, such as save game corruption, to be fixed first.

wish they will add this feature in future update

Quarry had one of the highest priority which is weird. It is annoying because I want them to farm stone if there is no more ore. But what happened is 3 miner always go to quarry no matter what and only the remaining go to mine ore. They really need to allow us to assign task. You still need stone for palladium so I cant just really delete that quarry.

Can confirm.

At my mining base I have
3 helzephyr
5 Anubis
2 jormuntide ignis

Sure it bugs out every once in a while when teleporting in and out but for the most part they are pretty self sustaining in terms of mining coal/iron, transporting to storage and then I just let the ignis roam until they smelt, but with 4x fire they are done really quick, normally before all the nodes can be gathered and stored on like a 2x 400+ smelt

To generalize, there should be a way to flag a workable item as "ignore for now", until you unflag it.

It's not just stone/wood harvesting, but stuff like e.g. a heater that only exists to heat an incubator -- if you don't have an egg in the incubator, you should just be able to flag the heater as "ignore this" so it won't be kindled.
