I've only played singleplayer and I haven't been able to put it down in days.

I have a solo campaign and play on my own dedicated server too. Both are good.

I'm enjoying it oddly. Probably more fun to play alone then online atm anyway with all the crap that is happening.

that's what the Palspheres are for. Making friends.

Yes, i just think it's even better in multiplayer. Yet i only play alone.

Now i'm sad, screw you. :'(

The game is both tedious and interesting solo. I think having mates cuts down on some of the first bit.

just like every game singleplayer can get boring after a while,
its more fun to play online and interact with randos and playing with friends.

but atm from what i read if its true cheating losers are ruining the official servers.

I have played about 30 hours solo, it appears to be more stable and I am having an absolute blast!

i'v been vibing solo playing.

imo it's better to play it solo for the time being. Multiplayer is riddled with bugs and high ping so it might be best to stick to solo until they even out the issues. There's also the issues of cheaters online

Single is fun, very fun. Playing with others is fun "only" if they are your close friends or people you actually know.

I've been playing only SP and it's fun. Finding that new Pal and unlocking new fast travel points to expand your range is your typical, early gameplay loop that gives you some dopamine and shiny effects for our primate brains.
Can't speak much for late game play, but early/mid is fun as heck. Figuring it all out and leveling up not just yourself, but your Pals, getting stronger and unleashing fire hell and bullet hell on everything is super satisfying.

Love the game and 100% solo. Am level 32 now. If you enjoy survival games you will enjoy this.

To some degree, it fits the "better with friends" stereotype of survival crafting games...but since there isn't a way to share xp between players and each one has to grind out their own levels, it can also be pretty easy for one player to take advantage of the extra resources from working as a group to get a notable level advantage. Though, this can also work in the group's favor if one player's able to power level faster, unlock the good stuff, and then make better equipment to make your own progress faster.

Also a group can coordinate early tech unlocking. With just two players, you can avoid the early tech point shortage, having both players unlock the core tech items but splitting on choices between weapons, armors, and other extras. And if one player unlocks a Pal-specific tech and researches it, they can make multiple so the other player(s) don't need to worry about unlocking and making it for themselves.

Whether solo or co-op, it's solid.

I actually prefer it alone. When adventuring with friends, you just end up getting in arguments over who gets to catch this boss Pokemon or who gets that shiny. Did you just use up all the iron making ammo? Again?

Or maybe I have bad friends.
