Base priority's and locations
So, so far i have been using one base for everything and its getting super cluttered
I recently unlocked the ability to build 3 bases

What should i be doing with those 3 bases, where should i be putting them?
I'm not taking about specific locations but what i should be putting them on in terms of resources

My current plan is to have one base for farming food, storage and crafting (also stone/wood)
a second base for mining ore and coal and smelting
And i have reached the point where i have to start mining quartz now, so is that a good idea for the last base?

I know the location of large ore coal and quartz clusters to place these bases
but for my main base where is an actually good location, resources nearby don't matter just need a nice flat location that looks nice.

Wouldn't worry about wood or stone nearby, there's two work stations for that which both function better AI wise then trying to harvest wild stone/wood.

Metal ore (lvl 20-30/35), coal(lvl 35+), and Quartz (lvl 35+) are 3 late game minerals you can't build work stations for that are good to build for. A side effect of this is that you'll wind up probably building on top of a mountain/hill that raids can't get up so it winds up doubling as a perfect defense too.

Well, depending on where you are, I can suggest the hill just north west of Chillet, around 8 natural metal ore spawns, nice and flat hill mostly, and raids cannot reach you at all.

Between Vaelet and water dragon dude above Mossandra forest there's a hill with around a dozen metal ore and half a dozen coal ore spots, it's not perfectly flat but I built a pretty good sized base there and now I'm using it as my main base entirely.

I haven't needed a LOT of quartz yet, but I'm only lvl 43, so that may change when I get to pal-metal tier.

There is a few place with lot of irons (copper ore) on it. I would prioritize those personnally. Coal and sulfurs can be found "on sight". Late game, coal can be important (refined metal) but end game it's paldium that is important (pal metal) making coal only a "transition" between mid game and end game, so copper ore (metal) and paldium should be prioritize when looking for a location (mostly copper ore as you can make paldium out of stone).

There is a lot of place with metal for putting a mining base (or your main base).

Already have a location with a lot of copper ore with some coal ore too

But what about the other two base locations, what other resources do i need endgame

It depends on what you want to do. I just destroyed my first base to build a breeding farm / cake factory. Haven't unlocked the third yet, but honestly, I would probably just use it for convenient fast travel and not actually build much in the third. I might be overlooking end game stuff, though.

base 1: any flat surface for all forms of production except breeding. bonus points if it's near chest spawns, egg spawns, and/or skill fruit trees

base 2: coordinates 190, -40. ore and coal mine

base 3: only breeding farms to avoid annoying bugs caused by putting them in base 1

So i don't need to make a base around mining quartz?

You don't need that much quartz once you got all the quartz you need you're done and there is a teleport that put you next to a quartz mining point also.

nah, you can just mark a mining spot for it on the map and go there when you need more

quartz is only used for circuit boards iirc, and i think those are only used for building as opposed to crafting, so a constant supply shouldn't be necessary

You can do everything comfortably in a single base, if you have a FULL flat circle and fit things well.

Just do walls around the edges first, a gate, and fill the edges of the walls as you like (I do beds and relax pools first). Place the breeder and ranch early because they need a bit of space and you can actually build inside them. I usually build egg hatchers in the breeder and a chest in the ranch. The chest is good to have a short walking distance for transporters.

Farms can go along walkways since they don't count as obstructions, and you can put 2 conveyor belts back to back so they can walk around them, don't need full space around them. I don't even build stairs or houses or a bed for myself.
