Any way to auto farm mushrooms?

I'm pretty sure my pals were doing so in my very first base, but I only had the base set up for about 20 minutes before I had to stop for the day.

Ohhh, I see now. Set up a base where mushrooms spawn and don't build over them. Genius, although slightly slow. Just wish there was a dedicated farm plot.
