Oil Extracting Work
So Astegon, Jetdragon and Dumud posses a work skill called Oil Extraction, either it's cut content or placeholder for future updates. I will prepare and get some of them with good workspeed! ;D

Okay?

It's probably cut content, I don't think they're going to expand heavily on the game based on what they're working on and what they've done in the past.

Though it would be really cool if lvl 50 was just the BEGINNING of Palworld and it'll one day go to lvl 100 with tons of islands, new bosses, new legendaries, and the Tree of Life at the center of a story.

Sadly, it's a small team project, not Final Fantasy 17. I think this is just about the limit of what's planned. The immense speed upgrade Jetragon has, more than double the next Pal, as well as the missile launcher endgame really spells this to be the final version. They COULD go alien tech like ARK did but things just get weird at that level of power. We'd be crafting teleporters and cloning factories and fabricators, it's all a bit much for an animal ranch game.

would be cool if they do it like ark, new maps with new tech, recources and other pals and the world tree funktions like the big Pylons to transfer stuff.

Their roadmap mentions 'new islands, bosses, pals and technologies', as well as end-game raid bosses. Granted, that is if they actually keep to said roadmap.

Do you have any evidence for this? Or is it just baseless pessimism?

Ark had a small team too, the game expanded to multiple times its original size and scope. Hell I've watched games with a one or two man development team undergo incredible growth.

That's not to say there's any guarantee of this, but idly writing it off based on nothing is just as naive as presuming it has a certainty of being game of the year.

My Dunmud has Soil Improver as Partner Skill. It's a while in team skill.

It's also worth mentioning this game is significantly more successful than Craftopia was. I'm almost positive the devs are very well aware this success means they could easily sell DLCs later on down the road so long as they get this game fully developed. Hell, Ark made dlcs before that game was even finished (though I certainly hope we won't see that happen here.)

Does it have anything to do with pal oil drops? Like am I always supposed to get 8 pal oil from a mammorest?
TheHemp Jan 30, 2024 @ 3:17am
I feel like Oil Extraction was meant to be the source of the elusive Pal fluid and high quality pal oil. There's also an unused Crude Oil item, so it definitely feels like there's some unfulfilled designs there.

I'm excited for whenever we get the first big update. So many options.

I don't understand the idea of calling something "cut content" in a game that's not even finished yet. That's something i'd call "planned content".
kampfer91 Jan 30, 2024 @ 3:28am
In fact in one of trailer they show Pals are extracting oil from an oil well.
rick.vanopdorp Jan 30, 2024 @ 3:35am
I believe I read somewhere the game was about 60% done and there is the roadmap that mentions 'new islands, bosses, pals and technologies', so there's a good chance that this is part of planned content at this point. Ofcourse it could also turn out to be a leftover from cut content aswell.
