Tombat's Sanity constantly sinking.
Of every pal I assigned to my base, Tombat always seemed upset, and I have no idea why. He has no negative passive, the feeder is always full of various food, there is a hot spring nearby, fluffy beds, and I didn't build the monitoring stand because I'm happy with the Pals' conditions except for that one! His food meter is only 5. I have a boss at my base with 8 in food, and he is never upset; his sanity never goes below 60. So, what's the deal with Tombat here? Anyone know? :7Days5:

dark types never sleep. they'll stay up all night and overwork themselves, and i think the only way to really offset this is with high SAN food and SAN loss resistance passives

Just play swapsies daily and you'll be fine. No one wants to work 24hrs a day anyway.

Oh yeah, that make senseǃ I haven't thought of that. I have 3 Killamari at my base, but they don't have that problem since their food requirement is only 3. I guess I will have to grab one that has the Positive Thinker skill or something similar. :maple2:

Make sure that you have cooked berries in the foodbox instead of raw berries, and make sure there is a hot springs available. If your pal keeps getting low sanity then every now and then take them into your party and force a bunch of cooked berries into them so their sanity goes back up to 100. If you have cooked berries and hotsprings its a slow decline that might even get reversed if there isn't enough work for it to be constantly busy.

same issue with Cattiva

Tombat does seem to have a higher than normal fail rate. I have several of them and swap them around. They do love a good hot spring. I made 2 to keep everyone happy.

They got full cooked meals that gives between 40 to 60+ SAN. And I don't know why, but none of the Pals actually eat the cooked berries. I always have to feed them myself when it comes to those. There are two hot springs available. I always have to throw the Tombat into it every time, it's like he's allergic to itǃ And there's definitely nothing blocking its path, there's a giant who keeps taking the same path, so it's kind of confusing.

I have 4 tombats on my mining base and I'm only feeding them wheat and berries. They haven't had any sanity issues yet.

Well, I swapped him with something else and then I put it back without giving him a fixed assignment, now his sanity is always maxed out. I guess giving Pal a fixed assignment is probably bad? I have no idea. Cremis has a fixed assignment at the farm and isn't complaining. Pooping fluffy wools all day, every day with a cute smile on its face!

it doesn't look like you're doing anything wrong.

i might chalk this one up to a bug, maybe he's got a negative trait that isn't showing on his status menu, or the ai pathing in your particular area isn't intuitive enough so he doesn't go sit in the hot spring as often as he should. maybe they missed a close bracket on his pathing behavior =p

i have noticed more than one monster ends up doing repeat stupid behaviors, i just bench them.

Your pals will ALWAYS eat from left to right in the food box.. so if you want them to eat cooked berries they have to be in the far left slot. They don't just randomly choose their food.

Yeah it's entirely possible. The path-finding system is pretty buggy at the moment. I have built a platform that goes down and built some walls around it since it's near a cliff and I didn't want Pals to fall to their death. But there's always that one Arsox who manage to fall to their death every single time. And if I build too many walls, it seems most Pals are getting confused and refuses to go there as if they were claustrophobic of something. :7Days5:

Huh, interesting. And kind of annoying... So, all my Chikipi Saute and Herb Roasted Lamball were just rotting there all the time? :7Days1:
