Overpowered Direhowl
For some reason my friend has a shiny Direhowl that easily hits for over 14k damage while everything I own struggles to do more than a 3 digit number. Anyone else experiencing this?

possibly bred it for better stats/skill? Codencer to 4 star? Used Pal statue to upgrade?

A Lot of way to upgrade a per over just catching one.
prolly way overleveled

high attack vs low defense equals big numbers and if the enemys defense is even slightly higher than your attack you start dealing very low numbers, it probably has 50+% atk traits and boosted in other ways, i have a pokemon that hits for 30k's on anything thats even slightly lower its level because it has 70% from traits and fully boosted atk and lvl 4 ability

What others wrote. And also the shinyness might be a factor, they are generally more powerful (like Alpha) variants of the normal Pals, so higher stats are to be expected.
So it can be anything from people above me posting (level, stat boost, statue upgrade, breeding, etc) as well as the whole "being a shiny Alpha" Pal.

Ask if your friend is regularly bullying level 1's in the starting area, at level 20, even I with a old bow can crit for around 9-10k when I accidentally kill pals in that area.

Level scaling. Simply having a higher level will make the pal stronger, even if the stats are otherwise identical.

I should have specified. It's a lower level than mine, he's a lower level than me, and he hasn't buffed it in any way outside of it leveling passively. I have 6 shinys and I tested them all, none of which are capable of that kind of damage. Nothing I have, boss shiny or otherwise can hit anywhere near that, almost 10% of his numbers if I'm lucky. I even checked using the same ability he did and it wasn't even close to the same.

Your damage is the sum of all your pals + your attack subtracted from their defense iirc.
Its possible your friend has a lucky (+15% attack) direhowl with +50% attack (all three attack traits) and 4 cremis for their stacking normal damage increase.

Or they could be cheating.

so you are essentially accusing them of cheating and want someone to agree that is what it appears from an outside perspective. there is various reasons his is better but since we the public have no idea of stats or bonuses or traits we can only guesstimate.
At what point did I say he was cheating? I'm simply asking why his is so much more powerful than mine wondering if anyone knows if it's a bug or not or maybe has simply experienced this as well. But hey, lets keep making eachother look like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥....

He doesn't have enough time to play enough to know to stack other pals for damage. Not to mention you would have to get a much higher total percentage than all of that to do more than 10x the amount of anything I'm getting out of my shinys and bosses. And no, he doesn't have enough time to cheat and I've known him long enough to know he doesn't cheat.
