Palworld Dedicated Server Forcing Everyone to Remake new character
Hi all i created my own dedicated palworld server through my own router. But recently today m guessing after the 1.3 update rolled out its forcing about ten of us on the new server to create a new character. Anyt fixes to bring us back to our own server would be appreciated as i dont use any third party server hosting platform thank you.

for some odd reason the update made changes to server which gives the server a new UID. i forget what directory. but if you go to pal>saved?savedgames>0> you will probably see 2 folders. (e.g. 7870987056 and 789634789) these are your save folders for specific UID. there is a file in server folders that points to this. if you edit to your original save. and restart your server you should have all your charactors and stuff back

Update- the file path is
pal>saved>config>windows/linuxserver(depends what one your running)>GameUserSettings
then look for the string "dedicated servername" after the = you want to change the numbers back to your original save file/folder

You got off easy. I had my character wiped and then when I remade the character it couldnt even swing a melee object more than once making me have to switch servers entirely. Spent an hour trying to figure out how to reset the animation or fix the bug. Was told you have to leave a guild but I wasn't in one.

I arrived at the same conclusion, changing the GameUserSettings to the original folder name. But it still asks for me to make a new character when joining :(. I wonder if my character isn't matching up or something.
So, I'm hosting a dedicated server on UnraidOS using the linux dockers. After so much troubleshooting of this issue, what I have determined is that the Level.sav or LevelMeta.sav in the Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0/xxxxxxxxxxx folder is somehow getting corrupted.

The best workaround is to go into your backup folder and swap out the Level.sav and LevelMeta.sav with an older backup. This has fixed the issue for all of us experiencing the character creation screen on an existing dedicated server world save. The whole modifying of the GameUserSettings.ini with a different hash or deleting the hash and forcing the game to create a new world save did not work for us.

the save is corrupted and needs to be rolled back to when it was last working.
