Attack upgrade = Faster harvest?
Im wondering if increasing your attack when you level up means you harvest nodes quicker. Id test this but I really don't wanna make a new save just to test since you cannot respec your character yet. Anyone know?

Resource nodes are harvested through damaging them. WHAT damages them doesn't matter.

I use a sword for resource harvesting now because it is lightweight and almost as good as a reinforced axe/pickaxe but has higher durability.

It does. Much like upgrading weapons like spears. So attack power affects your own mining/chopping speed.

I don't feel any difference in harvest speed unless I upgrade the axe and chopper to next tier.

At refined metal axe level each chop is 3-4 ores which is very fast to fill the weight.

Thats how i imagine a stat for "attack damage".. to improve resource gathering..

Devs just copy paste ARK stuff and do nothing about making it unique for their own game.

Uh, sort of but not quite. I actually had a strange test result that I need to test more. Upgrading digitoise attack damage does nothing, but increasing it's work speed does increase the damage it does to nodes when using the headband. On astegon, a pal with no attack or work speed buffs did the same to a rock node as one with tons of attack buffs and muscle head. I need to get one with attack buffs and no muscle head and test but I think nothing effects it other than partner skill level and move base power.

Im more so talking about player damage to the resource node. If more damage = more harvest. Essentially.

To be brutally honest, I don!t think it matters. The 2 a level increase will not do much, as you!ll be depleting a node in couple seconds even with base 100 with the better tools.

Regardless how much damage you do or how fast you finish a node with upgraded tools the amount you get in the end is always the same. For example if you do 100 damage your gain 1, if you do 300 damage your gain 3 but the HP of the nodes will always be the same

Attacking nodes is the most unoptimal way of mining/logging period.

You want a tier 3 miner/logger for optimal farming not attacking.

I mean you can play however you want but you'll be consistantly starved for mats the closer you get to max level.
Use Rushoar to mine, and Elk for wood. Attack power at level up for pure damage
Ok I did more testing. Astegon does the same damage to nodes no matter what. Level doesn't matter. Partner skill level DOES matter. Even at just level 2 partner skill, he can destroy coal nodes in 2 hits. I imagine at level 5 it'll just oneshot all node types with dragon cannon.
