Kind of the point i think, forces you to have a good base with good amount of materials coming in and producing "SPHERES"

Get a Nitewing, wait for the night time make sure yer draw distance is maxed, farm the Lifmunk effigies and max yer taming skill. Night time you can see green specks from a very long way.

You need to upgrade your balls.
Blue ones are for lvl 1-10 mainly, ok to 15.
Green ones are good to 20ish.
Yellow ones are good until 27ish.
Red ones are good until ~35.
Purple ones I think are too expensive to craft so I think legendary spheres should be used for ~35-50.

Catching a lvl 50 I think is ~16% chance which is the lowest it gets. Otherwise you should have like 40-80% most of the time.

yeah the reported numbers are a bit weird. people have said that they think that there's a malus if you spam balls, so if you wait a little for them to do an attack after it's popped out of the ball it could help. To echo the above comment, I have also heard that hyper spheres are not good for very long so yeah you should use pink spheres above 35. and don't forget to upgrade your catchrate

Tip for getting the balls:
Start of game, either just craft the blue ones or use a few Vixy in your ranch.
If you craft them then go into dungeon to mine Paldium Fragments, the cave next to first tower have 80 paldium Fragments right inside the entrance.
Use Eikthyrdeer to farm wood and Tombat to farm stone.

Make your 2nd base on a bunch of ore nodes and use tombat to mine it.
Teleport back ore to main base. You should have no problem making Mega Spheres and Giga Spheres.

Hypher Sphere is almost as easy, need to farm pal fluids and bones (bones can be bough at merchant).

Legendary Spheres is a little more expensive but not too much.
