Please add a brightness setting.
I walked into the dark mineshaft without a torch like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥, and ended up spending 15 - 20 minutes trying to get out again.

I second this! Brightness settings are very important for accessibility. I would add to have a way to adjust flashing lights too, to either turn them off or make them slower, maybe have a glow instead? I'm photosensitive and get migraines from too much flashing and high contrasts of light. I'd like to be able to get this game, but am holding off to see if those functions get added

Saaaame. Also the ability to turn your personal lantern on and off during the night would be cool.

Idk about other fire pals but my Arsox is good at lighting areas up.

I feel like the lantern should be automatically accessed right away. It's no fun to always switch to the torch just because you can't see

I've been thinking that as well. I'm surprised how high up into the tech tree it is.

I sent in a ticket... I would have never built the Hip Lantern if I knew it would forever alter my character to always have a huge light glare everywhere I go. No way to disable, or remove the key item. :\ I was fine without i...

Literally a skill issue.

Says you. During my time lost in darkness I learned the art of echo location.

True, when we play in the morning, the light outside will make us unable to see anything at night ingame. Not just everyone has a dark room to play games xD

There's a mod for this on Nexus, I'll prob grab it myself.

There is a shadowy canyon that is pitch black even in "daylight" or with a torch.

...Close the window curtains/blinds? ...Turn off your room lights?
No bruh it's an important part of the game. Get a fire pal or use a touch. At the higher level, you will get a lantern which will turn on automatically everytime it gets dark.

I remember the day when a monitor actually had a brightness knob. Your monitor does have a brightness setting, but it is a bit too cumbersome, so ya, would be nice to have a quick way to change the brightness (gamma), like we have in ARK. In ARK, I mapped the low and high gamma settings to PgUp and PgDn.

If you are having issues right now, turn down the shadow quality one of the two lowest settings. This will likely resolve your issue. I believe the underlying cause of the bug is the game stacking shadows (i.e. you aren't standing in the shadow of one thing, but 30 things even though 29 of those are in the shadow of the first thing).
