Report a translation problem
Replace the offending pal with another from your storage, then replace the other with the original. Try reassigning. Should be fixed.
edit to add: i have also tried putting them in my party and then putting them in the storage and then in the camp and it didnt work, ive tried feeding them and making them sleep to restore any remote loss of sanity and it didnt work. i do not play modded at all so it cant be that. it is just genuinely broken
Sometimes you can fix it by removing a pal from your base and adding them back in. Other times you need to rebuild the station.
Even with those ways to fix it, if you rebuild your breeding grounds, it is just going to happen again when you manually assign pals to it.
I think the only mitigation is just not to manually assign pals at all until they fix it. Sadly this means that some stations are useless and you need to use pals that only have specific skills (cooling/electric) if you want pals to focus on something.
