Rushoar is better than Digtoise

I think that's a problem. Digtoise needs to be superior for mining.
Unfortunately, Digtoise often cannot be directed towards the mining node, and its mining ability is limited, it needs to be recharged. Meanwhile Rushoar can be easily aimed, can often be used to hit two or more nodes at once, and it mines more resources for each hit.

Digtoise should just be better. But it's not. And that bothers me.

Unless im misunderstanding you, you definitely can set digtoise onto a node. I usually grab 4 digtoise and mine out every node in my mining camp, no need to wait for downtime.

I'm talking about out in the field, not in a base. That might be the misunderstanding.
I haven't even tried using a digtoise in a base because it's just so obviously inferior.

It doesn't matter if youre at base or not, im referencing ore nodes, like the actual rocks. If you throw digtoise at a rock, it locks onto it.

once you hit 2 bases you'll barely be mining your own stuff. I haven't mined for myself since lower levels lol

Digtoise does do oddly low damage in my experience to the nodes, but if working on a stone quarry they're def a lot better.
And I'd wager Digtoise' reliable damage is still better for mining than the boar's.
Outside the bases... Honestly I'd suggest just mining yourself, it'l be a lot faster than using any pal typically in my experience.

I just tried this. It took about 6-8 activations of Digtoise by tossing him onto the node and then recalling him to fully deplete a complete ore node. Meanwhile it only takes three mounted charge attacks from Rushoar to deplete the node.
Rushoar is the clear winner. And no, it's not faster to use a mining tool. Rushoar is the clear winner EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Digtoise is 100% faster if you've created the neckless for it to use his ability "Drill". Otherwise yes, Rushoar is better, and that's how it's supposed to be. Rushoar is your early ore farming pal, if you can get one with Miner Foreman passive you'll get 40 ore per charge.

But with Digtoise, the neckless, and Miner Foreman passive I can collect about 1k ore in less than 10 minutes and nothing else beats it late game when you fully upgrade its work speed.


Edit; Not once have I seen any of you mention using his passive. If you haven't made the neckless to use Digtoise ability then just put him back in your pal box. There is no reason to use the Mining Pal without his ability that allows him to actually mine.

Just tried out rushoar, its really not any faster if you have a digtoise + are hitting it yourself, but digtoise does seem like it should be a big upgrade over rushoar

I know, right? I was excited to get Digtoise and get an upgrade to my mining method, but was immediately disappointed with how useless it was.

This is just not true, I can deplete 2+ nodes with digtoise and my pickaxe at the same time in less than 1 ability bar

You have to jump through five different hoops to accomplish what can be done with a single Rushoar.
You are objectively inferior.

Rushoar can hit two or more nodes with one use of the ability, and doesn't require you to use a pickaxe. Mining is much faster with Rushoar.
You don't need to unsummon and resummon Rushoar like you do Digtoise. You don't need to use a pickaxe. You don't need to do anything special. Also, what you are doing is objectively NOT faster. Not even a little bit. What you're doing is slower. That's a fact.
