Does anyone else think 10 minutes of waiting for a Pal to come back from Incapacited is too long?
I think it's too long. It's so tedious. I get why the designers might want to make it 1 minute to prevent people from just auto-healing Pals as you defend your base, but 10 minutes is such a huge punishment when 10 level 30-something Pals come rushing into your base and you basically have no agency to defend it properly because all of the pals working in the base are nowhere near that high of level. It's like, wow, this random event has just wasted 10 minutes of my life because I basically need to wait until I can play the game again. It's just not fun. It's not hard. It's just tedious.

there's a mod for that :)

but I do agree, having it be settable as part of the server settings would be nice.

Yeah it's pretty annoying due to how Pals are spawned in whenever you teleport to a base. I've had half my pals just incapacitated because they spawned on top of other pals or inside foundations/walls or inside the map geometry itself.

for me I like that 10 min... made me more careful... But yeah I understand you

I've had a couple of errors like that, but not too frequently. I dread getting attacked. Even if I survive and kill them all, basically 50-100% of the pals working in the base are dead.
A lot of times you can respawn them, dead, in your base, and then let a pal carry them to a bed. They instantly revive then. Also, if you can sleep at night and they are in your party they instantly revive as well.

I agree though. 10 minutes feels like a pvp balance thing and out of place for PvE where it just means idling for 10 minutes.

Yeah, I'm not even playing this game multiplayer. I don't see why it needs to be 10 minutes for single player. It's ridiculous.

Because there aren't a hundred things you can do while those ten minutes elapse? Or you can stand there and "waste your life" waiting for it.

Honestly, there wasn't really. I was just about to do something important and the attack on the base stopped me. Then nitewing was dead and all 10 or 12 pals in the base were dead.

I just disagree with you though. The time is too long regardless. There is no purpose to it from my perspective. And if there is a reason for it, it clearly doesn't apply to how I play the game.

Maybe I dont want to do the boring resource grind right now. Or maybe i have no need to do it, and want to, I dont know, participate in the actual gameplay instead of sitting around with my thumb up my arse because I misjudged just how much Boss X is overtuned.

Dunno, i have so many Pals at level 39 one thats not in the front-line right now seems so negligible.
Kackstift Jan 27, 2024 @ 2:44pm
maybe a high end medicine to get your Pal back from K.O.
Jenkem Junkie Jan 27, 2024 @ 2:45pm
I think the best way to remedy the situation is to just change medical supplies so that they heal HP and revive pals. It seems like medicine is only actually necessary very rarely if you're overworking your pals (which are still capable of working with these statuses afaik) so it's honestly kind of a wasted mechanic.

To be fair the issue with that is pals randomly dying due to bugs and not the timer itself.

Yeah but the problem is how often it happens. 1 out of 5 times I teleport to any of my bases, I wind up with at least 1 pal incapacitated because the game spawned him in an invalid location. Why should I have to wait 10 minutes because of a bug that happens frequently?

You shouldn't but that wasn't my point. my point was once they fixed the bug you wouldn't run into the timer in that situation at all. Do you really want to change mechanics because of bugs instead of trying to just fix the bug? I see the other arguments. Yours just seemed like focusing on the wrong issue :P
