I'm sure that's unintended but a viable choice when traversing.
I expect at some point in the future they'll start adding high level predatory flying pals over the ocean to incentivize using sea pals to cross it- but until then flying > Swimming.
Then we just need some underwater bases a la Subnautica. Oh, and people will totally try to catch Ghost Leviathans ^.^
Idk about the fall damage. It still has wings so its basically a glider at that point but the unlimited hovering above water needs to go for sure I think.
Should just fall into the water and start taking drowning damage. Hovering above land I can understand and get behind.
I believe a combination of adding more high level aerial apex predators and maybe strong wind currents at a certain air height could both nerf flyers and make riding them more interesting at the same time.
As for gliders and stam, just don't deploy till you are about to hit the ground. Even if you fall in the ocean, just idle until your flier is back nearby, jump, then rid it again.
Now, they could make later water mounts way fast in water. Like 5-10x their current speed. That'd give them a slight niche.
I saw the massive tree on the horizon but it seemed too good to be true. My Nitewing had gotten knocked out by that point and I didn't want to risk trying to swim toward it yet. Does it not let you get there?
