Can you make your pal stop attacking a weak monster ?

Is there any command or anything that let your pal stop from attack weak monsters ? I like to use my pal to weaken monsters but sometimes I am not fast enough with getting my pal back in the pal so the pal I want to catch dies.
is there a way that pals stop attacking when the enemy has like 10% or something ?

put it back in his ball, or use the order "do not attack" by using the 4 key

All pals have pretty slow attacks. Once they attack, they're not attacking again right away, so you shouldn't have an issue hitting the recall button before they attack again and kill the target pal. Unless they're so low level your pal is 1 shotting them, in which case, you shouldn't have your pal on attack.
