You know those comparisons between Pals and Pokemon?
I thought I'd look just a wee bit for fun, and it turns out they're a lot less valid than people claim. Many of them are based off of real world mythological creatures, and the Pokemons seem to be based off of the same or similar creatures. You could say they share a common ancestor. Look at Anubis. It's modeled off the Egyptian god Anubis, right down to the blue and gold color scheme, not that vaguely similar looking Pokemon. Eikthyrdeer is based off of Eikthyrnir from Norse mythology (and looks a lot more similar to Eikthyr from Valheim than than Xerneas does to either. Even the Firefox is based off of Finnish mythology and not something Pokemon created.

This is a big reason why Pokemon would fail a copyright suit if they tried. All Palworld has to do it point to the real world (or mythological) examples that were the inspiration.

if nintend itself said "we are looking into it" like they were ferrari with the strategies it was just another way of saying "we know palworld exist, stop enquiring us you fanboys". i dont get why pokemon stans are so salty when this is an entirely different genre. hell ark fans should be more "angry" cuz its far more similar to ark than it is to any pokemon, even the spinoff ones. and i say this as a pokemon enjoyer myself who adores mistery dungeons and the card game

The Anubis one killed my soul the most. Our public school systems are failing us all.

That was in reference to the pokemon mod that was being sold. If you're referencing directly from the Asmon video, it was taken out of context unfortunately.
All the comparisons should try and find what the Pokemon were originally based on as well but they won't because it's more work and defeats their argument.

Oh no! A game copied ideas from another game and then put their own spin on it or combined several aspects to make something different!!!
What ever shall we do?!

Guess I`ll play:
Rainbow Six...
Or maybe Batlefield...
err...BattleBits?
Call of Duty perhaps?

hmm... lets get away from military-shooting games, how about zombie games?
7 days to die?... nah.
Maybe Unturned? mmm.. too Minecraft-looking...
ah! I got it! let's play Dead Island!... hmm.. too similar to dying light...
Maybe Dying Light? nope... Mimics the running mechanic from Mirror's Edge... let's try a different genre...
Resident Evil seems too blatant... Plus it is more action orientated lately compared to its horror roots...

I know! Horror games!
Silent Hill... meh, Resident Evil except more psychological horror...
Lovecraftian games like Call of Cthulhu or Sinking City! hmm.. not quite feeling it. Need more visual horror...
Maybe Alan Wake or Cry of Fear.. can`t do that either. too similar too Outlast with scary humans running around...

How about games where we catch monsters/enemies and have them join us in combat?
Can`t do Pokemon, that is too obvious.
Maybe Nocturne? Or perhaps Ni no Kuni?
I got it! Monster Sanctuary...
No. I might as well play Monster Hunter Stories then...

How about a simple survival game?
Already mentioned 7 days to die.. so can`t do that.
maybe something different.. something that is survival + catching stuff?
Ah! Ark!! no wait.. people might get upset I can catch dinosaurs and have them help us do stuff...
Grounded? mm... only insects..
Valheim? not enough animals I can tame...
I got it! Less monsters and more humans! Conan Exiles...

hmm... let's do something with a unique art style then!
Got it! A 3D game with Cel-shading! That is unique and rare!
hmm..
Dragon Ball Fighter Z? Killer 7, Okami (a classic), Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker?

Screw it. How about a simple farming/ranching game then?
Stardew Valley? Animal Crossing? Slime Rancher? Harvest Moon?!

Geez... it almost feels like there are literal thousands upon thousands of games that take stuff they like from other games and see if they can combine it with OTHER games they like and then they combine those things to create a new game that is fun and exciting, but familiar enough that fans of the other games can quickly understand what to do?...
Nah... that is madness. Game Companies NEVER do that!

Really, just a quick search of "Anubis" on Google is enough to shred claims that it's a copy of Lucario.

not from the asmon video but the message talks about a videogame not a mod, so maybe a translation error. either way my take is pretty reasonable
