Should this ever get sued and removed does that mean everyone gets a refund?
I want to get the game but Im not sure what the risk is of completely losing it should a lawsuit ever happen and if we can get our money back then?

Buddy, this game was in development for 3 years. Why do you think nintendo didn't sue them then? That guy that posted the pokemon mod got C&D within 24hrs.

game not gonna get sue, it been in development for years, there was a pokemon mod for this game and it was killed within a day and people think Nintendo didn't notice this game being developed for years? Ignore the salty twitterate fanboys/armchair lawyer and just enjoy the game.

in the 0.000000001% that it does, steam would most likely refund player, like 'the day before'.

If the game gets removed I don't want my money back, I knew what I was risking when I bought it, I did it to support the devs, And they can keep my money.

Even if they got sued which is very unlikely they 100% wouldn't remove the game. Atworse they would be forced to change a few designs and face a fine/settlement. it wouldn't even be a international lawsuit so it also wouldn't be a big deal

They won't get sued. TPC / Nintendo would have already done so.

The TPC just came out with a statement, due to their rabit fanbase going all crazy on the internet, sending death threats to the people working at Pocketpair.

Yes some Pals in the game show similarities to Pokemon monsters, but they are different enough to be safe from plagiarism.

So there is nothing to see here. Just keep on playing and enjoy the game.

Go look up a game called "Craftopia" This game was built using an engine that has been making a lot of games. This just went viral for actually being fun,

Actually, I'm not sure you'd get a refund, but I'm nearly sure that no one will sue and even if this happens, it's mostly about some single pal designs, that would never lead to the game get removed.

But let's assume for a short moment this happens (what, like said, not will happen), well I guess in worst case your money is gone ... but then, it was 26.09€ for me and let me say it this way: I've wasted far higher sums much more useless in the past. ;)

You know this game and craftopia isn't the same engine right?

If a game get removed from steam and you bought it bevore, your still able to download and play it. Also the Community Hub keep staying. only the shop site disappear. But you can use the product you payed for. I have two or three such game wich got removed cause of licensing issues or similiar

I've gotten my money's worth of play time already, which is more than what I can say for other AAA games. $1=1 hour and I can promise you my PS library has a few $70 games that I bought and didnt go back to it after 15 hours because they just weren't fun to go back to them
POMPOKO Jan 27, 2024 @ 4:38am
Even if they would have to take it down, usually you keept he game when you bought it and can still play it.

This is what I keep telling people. Copyright, despite how vicious it can be, is also insanely precise. Palworld would need to copy a pokemon like-for-like for any legal action to be taken. Even then, the result would be to remove and replace that single creature, and just move on. Palworld is staying.

It's not gunna get sued, The reason the Pokemon mod got taken down is cause the Moron was monetizing it. Nintendo are ruthless, If they had an inch they woulda taken it already versus Palworld multiple times over.

Stop trying to fear monger, Nintendo deserves all the bad rep it's getting. A dev team of . . what? 10 self taught devs made this? Really puts into perspective how lazy Nintendo has been all these years, They deserve to mald that a game they could've made and branded with their IP is now selling more copies than most their games released in last couple years on that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ switch console of theirs.
