don't use digtoise it bugs on ore nodes and mines slower than a reptyro. use a reptyro instead i had the same issue till i watched the digtoise bug out and mine alot slower than a reptyro did. any miner that attacks is better than digtoises spin on nodes. works great on the stone farm but not ore nodes.
Base 2 and 3 are optimized for mining. They only have ranchers for food and miners and haulers.
When I'm not on the bases mining halts quickly, and they produce no ore or coal.
My workaround to this is to turn off raids and afk on my bases, but that is not very efficient, and pals eventually kill themselves due to getting stuck in the air, and other places. Then I need to carry all the stuff to the crafting base. Because you can't produce all the necessary materials for crafting on the crafting base. I put plenty of points into carry weight, so I have 800 base CW, which translates to 100 coal or ore. Which translates to roughly 1 trip to the base for every 1 minute of mining.
Crafting ammo and crafting spheres is really, really annoying. Pals should be able to do this. I have many ideas, for example, a pal which has the ability to open portals for miner pals. You fly around, every 5 minutes or so you can use your partner ability to open a portal to base: your miners arrive, extract the node in 30 seconds or so, and take it back to the base.
Another idea: A building / job in the base or a pal ability which lets you take back items Torchlight style: You use the feature, an UI opens asking what do you want to take home, your pet disappears with the items and returns after X*weight amount of seconds.
And so on.

Make your pals do the work, no point manually mining, it's way slower.
