Any plan for native Linux support?
Are there any plans for native linux support in the near future? At this point, the game feels unplayable for me with proton.

LOL patience is a virtue... if it's going to be playable on steam deck it's pretty safe to assume Linux support will be added or modded into the game in future updates or when they add the workshop for mod support.
The game has gold status with proton.

Probably a workaround to whatever proton issues you are having.
As far as I can tell no one has mentioned native Linux support. Seems unlikely to me.

For me, even with proton GE, the game crashes the whole system (system blacks out), and I have no other option than to power it off.

it doesn't need native linux builds, that's just extra dev load and we already have butter smooth gameplay with proton or wine-ge, guess it depends which version you force compatibility

How are your system specs and are you trying to run this at max settings?

Speak for yourself. I and others get an average of 20-30 fps with constant and very long frame drops to 10fps or below on the lowest settings with an i9 9900KF and an RTX 3070 regardless of resolution.

This. I'm running Arch Linux with proton experimental from the AUR and it runs smoothly (avg 50fps with the occasional drop to 40fps) thanks to Freesync (although I acknowledge there's people with issues) on my Ryzen-Zen + RTX2070s with Vsync off and on high settings, in mulitplayer on an ultrawide screen. So, no native Linux support as of yet, but good guy Gaben has your back!

That tells me you have hardware or driver issues, there's absolutely no way a game running as a limited user should be crashing the entire system on linux.

While I'd love to see a native build myself, It's UE so it's not that hard for them to do, the engine does the heavy lifting, under proton I've had 0 issues and not even a stutter for the past 40 hours of gameplay so it's working just fine.

Its an issue with 30 series cards not sure if its even exclusive to Linux same thing with a 3070 Ti.

Hi. How do you play this game outside of Steam? I have been on Linux for less than a year. Right now I'm playing this game on Windows 11.
I'm currently typing this from my Arch Linux install and Palworld works just as intended, and smooth as butter -- have you installed the proper packages for your distro?
Then again, NVidia gpus tend to get a massive performance drop* on Linux, so theres that. (My PC is 100% AMD/ATI.)

Proton is built into steam, it's automatic, when people say they're running it with proton it's just running it straight from steam normally.

To run windows programs normally though, all you have to do is have WINE installed and just prefix whatever program you're trying to run (eg game.exe) with the runner "wine game.exe"
Kind of doubtful it'll get a port, to say the least. I play it at an inconsistent but plenty-playable framerate on Proton (need to poke a few things). I think Linux tends to be even rarer over in the East, and the devs aren't exactly software engineer veterans from the story told. As I understand it, Linux binaries don't/will not have a stable shelf-life pretty much ever, whereas Windows binaries will most likely live forever due to stable ABI, legacy, sunk cost, and compat stuff, so even as full-time Linux user I admit it's probably a waste for games to get direct ports (for now...). Usage of non-proprietary tech and efforts for compatibility will always be great, though.

They'd spend months trying to figure out what to do with X11 vs Wayland.

Stable ABI, on windows? Win 11 literally has problems with some Win10 games, and anything windows 8 and earlier runs easier on linux than windows, lol, never forget how bad it is over there and how much windows users put up.

That's old, ooooold information, glibc version targeting and shipping runtimes has been a thing for decades now, the old mess of having to have exact versions and only exact versions hasn't been a problem since early "desktop" distros in like 2005. Especially on a steam release just target the "soldier" runtime that steam provides and you're guaranteed compat on any system steam itself can run on. Or even easier, since palworld uses UE4 just use the built in settings in UE4 to handle it for you (you don't write any linux/windows specific code in UE4, the engine abstracts all that anyways)
