Stuck on island

The only pal in my squad that could fly was incapacitated in an unfortunate accident while exploring one of the sanctuary island in the corner of the map. I am now stranded and running out of food rapidly. What do I do?

die and respawn? or remove a base and build a new one there temporarily to revive your flying mount

Exactly that happened to me on the southern island. Found this question and didn't feel like dying to get out of the pickle, so I just got up on my Mammorest and rode it out into the water, was thinking I can get off before he drowns, swim until I'm out of stamina, and then get up on him again. When I got up on him again the game glitched and I started riding him on the sea floor (that had grass, wtf?), and weirdly enough I didn't drown. Anyways, I rode until I came to the mountain side on one of the main islands and just got off him, magically got back to the surface, and climbed the mountain wall. So for the next guy that gets stuck this might be worth a try, prolly works on any walking pet.

Chase a low level pal to the shoreline, catch it. Jump onto the palball the second it passes the first check to let you know whether or not you caught it. Get shot a mile into the sky. Glide across water barriers that would murder you.

This isn't true. The weirdly shaped island in the southeast has no fast travels on it.
