Single player boss fights?
30,000+ hp for the first boss is incredibly stupid.

Anyone know a way to straight up cheat them dead? I'm not wasting ~200 arrows to kill this guy.

Pure cheese sponge on the first boss.

Up until now though I was really enjoying the game.

(For those that don't read through the comments... I can dodge it's attacks perfectly for all 10 minutes, this is purely a "has too many hitpoints" problem)

(...beat it at level 13, well after you get the quest to go do it)

Get a decent Pal and you'll do way more damage with its attacks than you could do with arrows.

Google pal world trainer fling, and you should be good to go
You could always over level your Pals and let them fight the boss while you just run around the arena.

I went to that fight with the musket and cleared it in under 5 minutes. I've heard the tower bosses with 160,000 and 200,000 may be a problem but as they are the most difficult encounter in the game right now I think I'm fine with that.

my advice is choose ground type pals they will be able to handle the boss easily and hide behind pillars to avoid getting hurt the boss is very easy and arrows are easy to craft heck you could wait til you get a musket but that will be overkill plus but other than that you shouldnt have a hard time with the boss ^^ 30k hp is pretty much nothing compared to later tower bosses

I'm leveling them as fast as I can, but this fight is purely a time sink and not difficult in any way.

It seems designed to just take a stupid amount of ammunition, or an absolutely insane amount of grinding to pass a DPS check vs. a 10 minute clock basically.

Why are you using arrows when the game is full of Pals, guy?

Go do something else, get better gear and mons, come back when you and your mons are higher level. I forgot about it and came back at level ~20 and didn't have much trouble. Let your mons do most of the work, you've got five of them.
I typically get to level 15

Get a crossbow

Get a good Pal to distract them

Learn to use Recall to save your Pal from taking a big hit

It's not a hard fight just a little tedious... But i agree the health should scale based on the number of people who are involved. Or it should scale down for solo... but he is far from impossible just very tanky.

Also GET a shield... it helps alot.

Edit:

Also i found using a Direhowl and mounting them to kite was pretty effective... as he simply can not keep up with you.

The trick is to confuse the ai. if you hit them more than your pal they'll focus on you. get them to bounce between focusing between you and your pal. Oh and for the first one. a ground type would be best.

I personally did not rush into the tower but instead spent quite a while just exploring and catching some of the lower level world bosses [my alpha Kingpaca helped a lot in the fight] before going there so maybe I was already naturally leveled up from that.

They go down fast if you have a pal of equal or higher level as the boss with a counter element. Preferably more than one pal with the counter element so you can swap them around to keep their health high.

Also watch what attack the boss is about to use. A lot of the time you can recall your pal and redeploy to completely avoid attacks.

Its attack where it does the lightning bolts in a line is its hardest hitting attack, if you get hit by that you're almost certainly dead. It also has a pretty fixed attack pattern, so being adept at dodging helps.

Having a ground type pal helps.

If you know the boss is about to target your pal, you can recall it and then send it out again after the attack has passed to basically make your pal dodge attacks. Against the laser attack, you need to keep your pal recalled until after the attack executes, then send them out again.

I think you guys are misunderstanding.

I can no-damage this fight for all ten minutes, this is purely a complaint about the ridiculous amounts of resource expenditure needed in solo play against them.

I feel like if they had 10,000hp (in solo, not group) the fight would take long enough to be meaningful, but not be incredibly boring.
