Just to add, the size of the pal with the trait was the same as normal, just had the boosted stat cos of the trait. Again, no idea if the size can be bred down or not.
So only wild caught lucky pals have the increased size? the ones I've caught were bigger than ones without the trait.
*EDIT* According to this guide, they get the trait, but not the size.

It is not Cosmetics, the alpha normally has a huge buff in hp, compare a perfectly bred pal vs a Alpha pal and the alpha will in most cases have a higher health status
I wish I could make certain pals smaller so they dont block my view so much. Maybe a certain ingredient in the cake 🍰 like Alice in wonderland.
Been doing a bit of breeding and late endgame capturing and I can confirm that the alphas are exactly the same but bigger, EXCEPT in the case of the four legendary pals (Frostallion, Jetragon, Paladius, and Necromus) who actually do have more than double the hp in the captured alpha versions over the bred versions.
Also to address OP's question, breeding the lucky trait into something doesn't give it the extra size, and also I'm either just having some terrible RNG or you might not be able to breed the lucky trait through generations, as I'm trying to make a lucky relaxaurus from a bred Anubis that has both lucky and legend.
