Just cook the berries and stack them in your leftmost feed slot while you cook eggs and jamtoast.
Yeah fair, maybe I should stick with using them for manual mining if anything and keep to smaller Pals for sustained base work.
It is not so much about them starving to death, but that they don't fill up completely (usually they fill to around half). This means high skill big pals (e.g. Job level 3/4), who tend to have high food requirements will walk to a task, do it for a few seconds, then walk back to feed to half and then walk back to task and then the cycle repeats.
Only workaround is high nutrition food to force them to fill up. Not 20ish nutrition from a cooked egg/berry but 100+ nutrition food.
Yeah that works great for small pals, but it's the large ones that need more food, otherwise they're pretty much always running back and forth from feed box to task and don't get any work done. If you can keep them fed, they're efficient workers. It's just tricky to keep them properly fed without a lot going to waste on smaller pals that don't need giant meals.
