That said, you are your own person, regardless of how popular something is, doesn't mean you'll like it personally. Clearly it is popular. I find the enjoyment in it. Sometimes wife and I do nothing other than run around the base tweaking the design and caring for the Pals. Plenty would think that is mind numbingly boring. I disagree.. My brother in law, he loves Farming Simulator. I can't even make it past the introduction. I don't get it. I don't find the enjoyment in it. And that's ok, game isn't meant for me.
Careful dude, don’t want pals living rent free in your head, especially lovander.
For me, and perhaps a lot of people, it's the potential that this game has that is so appealing.
There's definitely a lot of jank, but no more than I would expect from an early access game.
I think, as you said, the lack of good Pokémon games in recent years is also a factor. This is basically what a lot of people wanted Legends: Arceus to be like (minus the guns, I guess).
You know that trolling is a fishing reference and not the live under a bridge type troll right?
But no, most people have no clue, let alone ever trolled irl.
