Everything wrong with Palworld!
Before we start. PALWORLD is actually a reasonably solid title with many good ideas and features.

But this thread is about all the things that make the game worse.

1. Hold F. Change it to a toggle. Simply bad design.

2. PAL AI and pathfinding. The AI is abysmal for the primary feature of the game. This is in the roadmap but it's so bad it should be a high priority fix. Pathfinding is something out of the mid 1990s games. Fix ASAP.

3. Combat whilst it is technically real time the charge time and semi turn based nature of how it functions makes it feel a little scuffed. To solve this they could improve how CT works by quite honestly reducing them all and on top of that increase the speed of many of the abilities. Too many of them are on a slow 55 or 30 or 15 second charge time and then make tou watch a slow particle effect slowly head towards the target. This could all be sped up to improve the feel and responsiveness of combat.

4. Durability system. This system is an arbitrary time waster of a system and a useless tiny resource sink. There is no gameplay loop attached to this system and no value to the player or gameplay. A fix for this would be to add craftable repair kits for your items that would keep the survival aspect of durability but make it feel less intrusive or time wasting to force you back to base every so often. Alternatively they could outright delete it.

5. Breeding system. Its garbage anti fun sit around in base time wasting and downright annoying.
The concept is pretty good. But the implementation here is awful. Waiting for animals to ♥♥♥♥ out honey eggs and milk in base for you then to dump it in a fridge and have to keep pressing sort so it doesn't disappear cause the ice boy walks away and the bar doesn't reset is abysmal. You then ask your jormuntide to make cakes but he's stuck on a wall somewhere so you have to permanently sit around watching them. And then u finally start breeding and realise if you leave your base one or more of your breeding pals will just stop randomly and wander off. This entire system needs an overhaul that allow the player to improve the automated nature of this and without the need to be present to deal with all the bugs on top.
They should make it so that breeding , you get a baby pal instead of full grown one, you have to feed and ♥♥♥♥ (wow such good ideas from ark) , i mean it, it would actually be good because they could allow you to temper its passives or try and change them if you didnt get one or two that you wanted.

6. Automation and pals. Watching them do a job for 3 seconds before running off to do another and then another then getting hungry then getting stuck is not fun. Please fix.

7. Balance, some pals are just better than others. This is okay to a degree, but quite honestly, the end game legendaries are just SO MUCH BETTER than everything else. There could do with a system that allows you to create as strong or close to those through perhaps its own gameplay loop or some such.

8. General QOL, Palbox entire inventory access, job assignment system etc etc.

I can agree to all of these QoL changes, and combat does need more of an impact feeling.

Having my character and all progress wiped every day or so is my number 1 problem. Until that is fixed everything else is pointless.

Pals that run off aren't skilled enough to do what you want them to do.

yah that sounds like a game in alpha alright. do you really think the devs hop into a server and not see all these problems?

the holding f to craft thing is something i can agree with but if you re crafting things your self instead of using pals thats on you you psychopath.

My Mr. Toothpick toggles F for me as many times as I like and for as long as I like. He and his 299 brothers cost me 60p. Jocularity aside, it needs to be an actual toggle. A sort of odd workaround is when you Capture the lvl 1 Merchant who visits shortly after you put the Pal Terminal down. Apart from still buying and selling stuff the ONLY useful skill she has is Assistance. She will naturally ignore any other Base task but the instant I start crafting anything she runs over and helps me. She's much more reliable than Pals turning up to help and then leave me seemingly at random.

I use a macro to remove hold F but it still should be changed.

I think something that needs worked out as well is where "pals" are calculated to spawn whenever you teleport into or near one of your bases. I often wind up teleporting to a base and finding lots of pals stuck or unconscious because they spawned in a weird location.

Valid points in some of them but poor title why not just say pros and cons or ideas for these to fix them not everything wrong with a game, its just stupid to write a title like that for a game thats only just release into EA

Mostly good suggestions. I disagree about cooldown times. High damage skills have long cooldowns to encourage rotating your Pal team.

everyone knows whats good about the game, its more about looking at improving defects or poor design

These are great suggestions. I would like to add, I want the ability to assign pals to certain jobs. Such as, for my cat pals I want them to be able to break rocks. For my sheep I want to create objects that I want them to. Such I start a job for making 30 arrows. And none of my builder will come over to make them.

The job system is something I was going to add but i got distracted, you should have a job list where you can assign a pal and thats all they do.

I think the reason for hold F to craft is to encourage pal use for those tasks, but it should still be changed to a toggle, or at least have an option for it. A couple small things I've noticed is the tech tree icons for the single-shot rifle and the double barrel shotgun aren't correct, while the actual assembly line versions are. Similar to this, the toggle sprint option is backwards, on is off and off is on.

I disagree on some point, for me top priority should be bug fixing and optimization, so that the game can run everywhere (all others problems can be ignore for some times).

1. You can't afk while doing a task, and it's boring. First thing that annoyed me ! Especially for cooking or things that takes times. With you + your pal, it's faster, you could go grab a drink or some snacks while making sphere or cake.

2. Yes especially when they just drop their things on the floor looking for a chest, and that put so many item on your base, the game already isn't at all optimize, adding that doesn't help. I think it should also be fixed asap.

3. I honestly find it ok... In craftopia they did differently (kinda a bit like elden ring, but without the perfect hitbox and control of elden ring, but still is a good system). Anyway, it depend on how people like their fight, so... It's not actually making the game less fun.

4. I just never liked durability in the first place... But i do find everything get destroyed far too fast. And metal isn't farmable by my pal so i put my base near metal (and i over use the "abandoned church"). A repair kit would be good, instead of a repair table indeed.

5. I just agree. And the cake TAKE TOO LONG to do. Especially since with fusion bonus can be random. Which means you may need several childs to have the pal you want, but it takes hours to make even just 2. So dumb.

6. I think it's directly linked to point 2.

7. I would add they should really rework the building system (it's just bad), especially how some things are link (for exemple, you can put a inclined roof on the side of a wall, and one above, to make cool effect, take out the wall, and you can't put back the wall, you must destroy the roof first. WHY ? I wanted to change a wall to a wall with window and found out that problem, and it's just one of many). Also adding actual windows would be great.

8. Sphere that go through pals : Sometimes you hit a pal with a sphere and... The sphere just keep going, happens very often when the pal is too close. Or sometimes you see the %, launch and... You miss... The pal didn't even moved. Adding that to some pals that actually dodge (but that's fair, and there not that many), it can really be annoying (although, it doesn't happens often).
