Questions about mining base
i have set up a mining base with a lot of Digtoises the problem i am running into atm is that as soon as i leave the area the mining process completely stopps and when i come back after 30mins there is no ore mined anyone knows whats happening there ? or should i use tombat or reptyro for mining bases ?

It's an issue with the instances in the game. Period. You are doing nothing wrong and it does not matter which miners you use.. it's just very hit or miss. I have the same issue as does a lot of people. Honestly I question the legitimacy of the people that claim their bases function properly with no issues after they leave them.

Like mentioned above.. I just stop by mine every once in awhile, pickup and then re-put down all the pals.. wait a few minutes and then leave again. Sometimes I come back and I have 30 ore and sometimes I have 400.. it's just a matter of whether the game feels like doing the thing.

I've experienced this on both my solo game and on my dedicated server with friends.

Far as I can tell you need to make sure all of these are true:
  • Your base has no quarries, otherwise every miner will mine rocks.
  • Pals assigned should have level 2 mining at least.
  • Someone can carry stuff to your box.
  • A box on the base has space for ore.

Just in general your mining outpost should only have some light food harvesting and beds with no other distractions

From what information I've gathered, the game tries to save on CPU (calls it a performance enhancer) by not loading the zones you are absent of. Unfortunately it translates directly into the issue you've described and many of us are experiencing where if you are not physically present, your pals do no or just do the fraction of the work.
Hopefully it gets fixed together with AI pathing as those 2 issues are really messing the game up right now. Until then just chill and keep reminding yourself: I've bought an early access game :)

I honestly just do it myself. I just have a Palbox and a chest at a mining location (8 ore nodes, 5 coal nodes). I use a Reptyro with 3 fast, low cooldown skills (Dragon Cannon, Ignis Blast and Hydro Jet, but any 2 CT skills work). It takes me less than 5 minutes to clear all nodes, grab all ore from chest, and fast travel to main base. Way less hassle than setting up a whole operation.

Digitoise make terrible automatic miners. Use tombats/penkings/anubis instead.

And yeah, you could try loading that mining base before warping to go explore, instead of leaving from your main base. That's the best I've come up with but it doesn't always work.

Is this multiplayer or single player? The single player works relatively well and will still have events happening at your bases when you're not present. It doesn't do this perfectly, but it usually works. I'll hop back to a mining base and find lots of ore and coal laying around and my transporters seem to forget to transport most of it while I'm not watching.

I've heard there's more issues on multiplayer.

But you should stop by every so often to keep things moving.

All pals in an area goes into stasis after a little while, the trick (that i hate) which i have found is to teleport to both my mining bases every new game day. This gets them out of stasis and makes them mine the newly spawned resources. You can consider this semi-automatic rather than automatic though. If you want full auo, you gotta afk sadly ...

I think those people are... kinda.. well embellishing.. that or they didn't leave their base as much as they claim they have OR they are on a server with more people and someone is nearby enough while the pals work to not put them into stasis.
