Automatically Give Pals Medicine?
is there a way to automate this process? like put it all in some container so they eat what they need?

There definitely needs to be, this is extremely tedious taking them out of the palbox over and over. Or walking up to them if you have multiple of the same pal when one has an issue to handfeed with the menu option. We need administering medicine automation using the Medicine worker skill.

I'm curious how pals even get sprains or sick to begin with because I have yet to have it happen after nearly 30 hours of gameplay. I feel like medicine is a wasted mechanic and should've just restored health or revived your pals.

I really hope they rework the Medical systems altogether.
Crafting medicine and giving it to them.
Along with pals recuperating in the Palbox.

It feels outdated and the mechanics are clunky.

If they get sad and hungry or otherwise hurt they can acquire an injury, which takes the form of a status effect that requires various medicines.

I 100% agree

Then it genuinely seems like the only way to cause it is to either throw them into battle with low hunger or set up one of those booths and max their workspeed, and I'd much rather have the medicine heal health than what seems like a fairly rare status.

There is a secret Pal that is like a doctor and it gives your Pals medicine when they are sick, did you guys not know this? The doctor Pal heals your HP in battle too.

And this pal is called? Just "Doctor pal"?
Necroing threads...

Anyway, because it's here now, a year later, the answer to OP is
"Medicine Cabinet"
There is a medicine cabinet that you unlock by leveling up. If you fill it with medicine, the pals will take what they need directly from it.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
